Prince Harry crashed his wife Meghan Markle‘s MasterChef Australia appearance — much to the delight of her fellow judges and the contestants.
On the July 26 episode of the cooking competition series, the Duchess of Sussex, 44, served as a guest judge. Producers at one point brought her phone to her as Markle sat at the judges’ panel.
“Hi, my love! My husband’s here,” she said, as the other judges waved to Prince Harry, 41. Meanwhile, the contestants and other members of the production crew were visibly shocked by the unexpected video call.
“What’s going on? Have I interrupted something important?” the Duke of Sussex joked.
“Well, we are actually in the middle of tasting all the dishes. We have four incredible cooks here,” Markle explained, as she introduced them by name. “It’s amazing. They’re so talented. We wish you were here.”
Prince Harry calling in because he had a couple of the contestants say they have a crush on Meghan.

After telling the MasterChef Australia judges that Prince Harry was in Canberra visiting with veterans, she told her husband, “I wish you could try this. These dishes are fantastic.”
Markle added, “It’s really delicious, and there’s a hot sauce that, well, you know me …it is so good! I think it might be too much for you, though. It’s spicy.”
To end the video call, Prince Harry told his wife, “Well, go and enjoy it. I’m very sorry to disturb you. All is well here. I’ll see you later.”
This wasn’t Markle’s first experience on a cooking show. In 2016, she was a guest judge for one episode of Food Network’s Chopped Junior. The Duchess also put her cooking and baking skills on display in the Netflix series With Love, Meghan.
She and Prince Harry have been married since 2018 and share two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet.
