Best Eli Roth Movies To Watch Before, or After, ‘Thanksgiving’

Netflix recently published an article on their Tudum website titled “The 20 Scariest Things to Watch Right Now,” and it’s a pretty good list. Is it accurate? That’s questionable, but horror is subjective, so we’re sure it’s better for some and good for most.

Factor in that Netflix is going to promote their original movies first, so something like Doctor Sleep will be superseded by Fear Street: Prom Queen, which is okay. Is it scary? Again, subjective.

However, the good news is that the following films are available to stream with your subscription, so take advantage of that $24.99 monthly premium charge and put some horror in your holidays.

    Apostle (2018)

In 1905, a drifter on a dangerous mission to rescue his kidnapped sister tangles with a sinister religious cult on an isolated island. The promise of the divine is but an illusion. From Gareth Evans, writer and director of The Raid franchise, comes Apostle. A Netflix film starring Dan Stevens and Michael Sheen

    Brick (2025)

They want to leave – but their apartment won’t let them. A mysterious thriller about a home that becomes a trap. Brick – the mystery thriller starring Matthias Schweighöfer and Ruby O.

    Cam (2018)

Alice, an ambitious camgirl, wakes up one day to discover she’s been replaced on her show with an exact replica of herself. From Blumhouse, the producer of Get Out and Upgrade comes Cam – a technology-driven psychological thriller set in the world of webcam porn starring Madeline Brewer (Handmaid’s Tale).

    Don’t Move (2024)

A woman alone in the forests of Big Sur must escape a serial killer with just 20 minutes left before her body completely shuts down. From legendary producer Sam Raimi.

    Fear Street Part 1: 1994 (2021)

In 1994, a group of teenagers discovers that the terrifying events that have haunted their town for generations may all be connected — and that they may be the next targets. Based on R.L. Stine’s best selling horror series, the trilogy follows the nightmare through Shadyside’s sinister history.

    Fear Street: Prom Queen (2025)

Prom at Shadyside High is underway and the school’s It Girls are busy jockeying for the crown. But when the candidates start to disappear, a gutsy outsider learns she’s in for one hell of a prom night. Starring India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, Chris Klein, David Iacono, Ella Rubin, Ariana Greenblatt, with Lili Taylor and Katherine Waterston.

    Gerald’s Game (2017)

A couple tries to spice up their marriage in a remote lake house. After the husband dies unexpectedly, the wife is left handcuffed to their bed frame and must fight to survive and break free.

    In the Tall Grass (2019)

After hearing a young boy’s cry for help, a sister and brother venture into a vast field of tall grass in Oklahoma but soon discover there may be no way out…and that something evil lurks within.

    The Ritual (2018)

A group of old college friends reunite for a trip to a most dangerous country in Europe – Sweden, encountering a menacing presence there stalking them.

    Run Rabbit Run (2023)

    Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)

Based on characters created by Kim Henkel and Tobe Hooper. Story by Fede Álvarez & Rodo Sayagues. Screenplay by Chris Thomas Devlin. Directed by David Blue Garcia.

    Time Cut (2024)

A teenage girl travels back to the early 2000s to stop a vicious killer from murdering her sister. Starring Madison Bailey, Antonia Gentry, Michael Shanks, and Griffin Gluck.

    Until Dawn (2025)

One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers. Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one…only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening. Trapped in the valley, they’re forced to relive the nightmare again and again – only each time the killer threat is different, each more terrifying than the last. Hope dwindling, the group soon realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn.
