What are the best Amazon Prime Video movies to watch in April 2024?

Prime Video is bringing entertainment to your fingertips! April 2024 on Prime Video is packed with hidden gems waiting to be discovered. We’ve compiled a list of the very best movies available this month, offering something for every taste. Covering a bunch of genres this list is your one-stop shop for finding your next cinematic favorite.

    The Beekeeper

Jason Statham takes on the role of a former Beekeeper, a member of a shadowy, high-powered organization. When his past is exposed, he’s thrust back into a dangerous game. But this isn’t just about saving his skin. The stakes are raised as his vengeance mission takes on national significance. The Beekeeper examines the complexities of loyalty, betrayal, and the true cost of vengeance. This isn’t just a mindless shoot-em-up; it’s a film that will leave you questioning who the real heroes and villains are.

    Dream Scenario

Nicolas Cage delivers a phenomenal performance as Paul Matthews. He is an ordinary man whose life goes from mundane to mind-blowing when he starts appearing in the dreams of millions. Suddenly, he’s thrown into an absurd kind of fame, with strangers recognizing him from their nightly visions. But the dream becomes a nightmare when Paul’s appearances turn dark and disturbing. The hilarity in Dream Scenario comes from the sheer absurdity of the situation, with Paul struggling to cope with his newfound celebrity status while battling increasingly bizarre dream sequences.

    The Gentlemen

Matthew McConaughey takes center stage as Mickey Pearson. He is an American expat who’s built a marijuana empire in the heart of London. But Mickey’s looking for a clean break and looking to offload his business. Ritchie’s signature style, with its fast-paced editing, witty dialogue, and unforgettable characters, is on full display. The Gentlemen incorporates a complex narrative through the eyes of Fletcher, a private investigator. His narration adds a layer of humor and intrigue, keeping you guessing until the very end.

    Godzilla vs. Kong

Godzilla vs. Kong pits two titans of the cinematic world against each other. The movie delivers a visually stunning and action-packed sequence for kaiju fans and casual viewers alike. Viewers are thrown into a world where Titans have re-emerged. Godzilla, the nuclear-powered leviathan, and Kong, the mighty primate, are the two alpha predators of this world. But as humanity struggles to coexist with these behemoths, tensions rise, leading to an inevitable clash between the two titans.

    Ricky Stanicky

The movie centers around three childhood best friends who invent a fictional character named Ricky Stanicky to get out of trouble. This convenient alibi becomes a running gag throughout their lives. They use this imaginary friend to cover for their various misadventures. Fast forward twenty years and their wives are no longer amused. They finally demand to meet the elusive Ricky Stanicky. Desperate to avoid coming clean about their long-running fabrication, the trio hatched a plan. They hire a washed-up actor to portray the nonexistent Ricky. While the central premise is outlandish, the film’s heart lies in the bond between these three friends, reminding us of the importance of loyalty and the joy of shared experiences.

    Road House

This cult favorite mixes action with a touch of cheese and a whole lot of charisma. The movie throws you into the world of Dalton, a skilled fighter with a mysterious past, who finds himself working as a bouncer at a rough-and-tumble bar in the Florida Keys. While the sun-drenched beaches seem idyllic, Dalton discovers a dark underbelly. the bar he’s tasked with cleaning up – The Double Deuce, is controlled by a corrupt businessman and serves as a front for various illegal activities. Dalton becomes a thorn in the side of the bad guys. In Road House, you can see Dalton clean up the Double Deuce, one roundhouse kick at a time. Just remember, in the immortal words of Dalton himself: “Pain don’t hurt.”

    The Zone of Interest

The Zone of Interest on Prime Video isn’t your typical Prime Video recommendation. It’s not a film for a casual watch or a fun night in. This haunting and thought-provoking movie is about one of humanity’s darkest chapters: the horrors of the Auschwitz concentration camp. The film takes a unique perspective, focusing on Rudolf Höss, the commandant of Auschwitz, and his wife Hedwig. We see their lives unfold within a chilling juxtaposition. While the Holocaust rages on outside their doorstep, the Höss family cultivates a picture-perfect domestic life in a house adjacent to the camp. The movie is not a graphic portrayal of the atrocities committed at Auschwitz. Instead, it uses a detached, almost dreamlike quality to depict the chilling normality with which unspeakable evil unfolded. The film forces us to confront the banality of evil, and how easily people like Höss could become complicit in such horrific acts.
