Country Mega-Star Reveals How He Protects ‘Sanity’ Amid Fame
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s romance took many by surprise. The county star and the ska queen were an unlikely match. They bonded in 2014 amid their respective divorces from Miranda Lambert (Blake) and Gavin Rossdale (Gwen.)

The unlikely duo went public with their romance in 2015 but didn’t tie the knot until 2021. Blake Shelton happily plays the role of stepfather to the three children she shares with her ex. In a recent interview with Forbes magazine, he opened up about spending time at his farm in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
The singer shared that the farm life helps him stay grounded. “I don’t even care if I miss an opportunity by not responding to a text or a phone call. It’s really the only way I can maintain some sanity.”
It takes a lot more these days to get him to leave the quiet life for the hectic life that comes with fame. “Now that I’ve gotten to this point in my life if I’m giving up some time in Oklahoma, it needs to be for something that I know is going to count.”
Is that why he skipped his wife’s recent huge event?

He proceeded to put his manager on blast for the conflict. “What kind of a d***head books us the exact same nights every single night? I think my manager did that. He’s here, isn’t he? Sorry, Narvel,” he said.
Blake Shelton’s manager is Narvel Blackstock, Reba McEntire’s ex-husband. Narvel Blackstock is also Kelly Clarkson’s former father-in-law. The family suffered a huge blow last summer when Brandon Blackstock passed away after a battle with cancer.
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani both have shows in Las Vegas through May. However, No Doubt’s residency at The Sphere goes through June, leaving her husband plenty of time to stop by and show support.
