Since his legal troubles started after his arrest in September, rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team has had multiple attempts to place the star on house arrest. However, Combs has recently shared that his legal team has given up on these attempts. Notably, this comes out after a judge recently gave a ruling in his favor.
Diddy Already Had At Least Three Bail Proposals Rejected
Sean “Diddy” Combs has been in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center since he was indicted back in September. The mogul has since faced charges including racketeering and sex trafficking.
Since then, the mogul’s legal team has spoken out about the conditions of the center and have attempted to place Combs on house arrest. Throughout the bail proposals, Diddy’s legal team offered to place a variety of restrictions on the mogul.
This included limiting Diddy’s outside interactions to his legal team and family with a judge’s permission. However, at least three different bail proposals made on behalf of the star have since been rejected.
However, court documents have revealed that Diddy’s legal team have given up on these bail proposal attempts. This notably comes out around two weeks after a judge recently rejected a recent bail proposal concerning the star.
According to Billboard, Diddy’s attorneys released a statement in the documents. As it read, “Mr. Combs does not seek to appeal the district court’s denial of his renewed motion and hereby moves to voluntarily dismiss the appeal.”
This Comes Out After A Judge Offered A Ruling In The Mogul’s Favor
This means that Combs will be staying at the Brooklyn detention center until his trial. At this time, the star’s trial is expected to take place in May 2025.
Notably, as the publication noted, a judge had previously rejected a bail request for Diddy, claiming there was “compelling evidence of Combs’s propensity for violence.” It was also alleged that the mogul posed “a serious risk of witness tampering.”
As previously reported, however, this comes out around the time a judge recently gave a ruling in the star’s favor. Combs was originally permitted to keep a laptop while in prison, although it was heavily restricted.
The laptop was to be used to help Diddy keep in contact with his legal team. However, it was claimed that the mogul wasn’t given the laptop, even after a judge allowed it.
More recently, however, Judge Arun Subramanian offered a ruling demanding the mogul get access to the laptop. As noted by Radar Online, the judge was quoted, “The MDC is ordered to give Defendant access to the Discovery Laptop seven days per week from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This can be in his unit’s visiting room or in his unit’s VTC room.”
