A long list of toxic stories has been coming to the surface about Diddy now that he’s behind bars. He’s still awaiting news of when he will be put on trial, but folks he interacted with over the years are finally feeling comfortable enough to speak out against him. One of those individuals happens to be his ex-artist, Dawn Richards. She met Diddy back in 2004. That’s when he chose her to be part of Danity Kane, the girl group he formed. The latest details Dawn revealed about her diet plan under his leadership are alarming.
Dawn Richard Wasn’t Adequately Fed While Working For Diddy
According to InTouch, Dawn says Diddy would tell her she was “too skinny,” yet wouldn’t offer her a sufficient amount of food either. Apparently, he only allowed her to drink peanut butter shakes while she worked for him. Some nutritionists would say that peanut butter shakes are great for helping people gain weight. However, if that’s the only thing your diet consists of, then that’s unhealthy and highly problematic. Dawn rehashed the experience in a federal lawsuit that states:
”[Diddy’s] contempt for women was readily apparent as he continued to display aggressive and hostile behavior towards [Dawn] and her all-female Danity Kane bandmates. [Diddy] regularly referred to the five women as ‘bitches’ and ‘hoes’ and denigrated their physical appearances. By way of example, [Diddy] stated that [Dawn] was too skinny and needed to ‘do something about this [her face].’“
In addition to not getting the amount of food she needed, Diddy also “deprived” Dawn and other members of Danity Kane of sleep. She explained that Diddy was an avid drug user who stayed awake for days on end from using illegal substances. He insisted that Dawn and the other Danity Kane girls would record songs and rehearse choreography for long stretches of time without taking breaks. In some cases, they were pushed to keep going for up to 48 hours, consecutively.
Were Other Danity Kane Members Also Suffering?
Along with Dawn, other Danity Kane members included Aundrea Fimbres, Shannon Bex, D. Woods, and Aubrey O’Day. Aubrey, specifically, has been super vocal about the terrible experiences she had with Diddy back in the day. Her complaints about Diddy are on par with Dawn’s. Especially when it comes to the way he tried to control her weight and physical appearance.
During an appearance on the Crysis Queen podcast, Aubrey said, “[Diddy] is on camera saying how much he hates it, but he’s off-camera telling me all the ways I needed to be groomed properly like, down to my toenails.” Dawn, Aubrey, and the rest of the Danity Kane Women split up in 2014.
