Revv up those chainsaws, because the upcoming horror documentary Dinner With Leatherface is opening the 22nd annual New York City Horror Film Festival this weekend! Directed by Mike Kallio, this documentary from Anchor Bay Entertainment gives fans a more in-depth look at Gunnar Hansen, the man behind the iconic Leatherface mask in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974).
In Dinner with Leatherface:
Friends, colleagues, filmmakers, and fellow actors share personal stories and discuss the dichotomy between the maniacal chainsaw-wielding character Gunnar Hansen played on-screen and the very intelligent, creative, soft-spoken man he actually was in real life. Interviewees include Bruce Campbell, Kane Hodder, Danielle Harris, and Linnea Quigley, as well as Hansen’s Chain Saw co-stars Edwin Neal, Teri McMinn, and Allen Danziger.
In our exclusive clip from the documentary, we learn about the funnier side of Hansen.

The timing couldn’t be better for the festival to play the years-in-the-making documentary as the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Dinner with Leatherface will make its World Premiere in New York City on December 5, 2024. Get tickets here.
