Robin Roberts missed last week on Good Morning America thanks to a relaxing vacation. However, she returned this week and rejoined her co-hosts, George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan. With that in mind, the three were having a discussion on a show this week, and Robin stopped speaking to both of them, not saying another word for the rest of the episode.
Here’s why Robin stopped speaking to Michael and George, and what happened to end that GMA episode.
Robin Roberts Stops Speaking To Co-Hosts On Good Morning America
After a week off from Good Morning America, it seemed Robin Roberts would be ready to talk again. However, she had something else she wanted to do instead. With her preoccupied with something other than her co-hosts conversation, she stopped speaking to both George and Michael. She didn’t say another word for the rest of the episode.
This was all set up by George, who was talking with Michael, Robin, Lara Spencer, and Sam Champion. He said that they had a great idea for a new GMA segment. “We just gave [executive producer] Simone [Swink] an idea for a brand new segment on GMA,” George said. Lara agreed with him.“We’re not gonna share it with you,” he continued (via Monsters & Critics).
Lara pointed at Robin and added, “There’s a clue, though. There’s a clue right there.”
The camera switched to Robin, who said nothing to her co-hosts. Instead, Robin was sitting there eating something. She didn’t explain what she was eating, nor did her co-hosts know what was in her mouth. Sam seemed amused by the situation, and Michael laughed and waved goodbye as the segment and the show ended.
Good Morning America Behind-The-Scenes Robin Roberts Video Reveals Hints
GMA released a video on social media that might explain things. The video showed Robin Roberts eating the food with Michael Strahan standing near her. She was eating a chicken wing given to her by Chef Roy Choi.
“That’s pretty damm good. My momma would be proud of that,” Michael told her as she ate it. She raised her arms, and Michael laughed. However, this might explain what George was talking about. It seems that the hosts want a cooking segment with Chef Roy Choi. Or, at least they want to get free food they can eat during the episodes.
This comes after Michael was part of the GMA segment with Roy Choi, who has a new cookbook titled The Choi of Cooking. Released this week, Choi created “rule-breaking” recipes that are tasty and healthy.
However, Michael never tried the wings during the segment since he was interviewing the chef. With that in mind, Robin seemingly got a chance to try them and was happy enough not to speak, so she could keep eating more.
