The resurrection of the classic EC Comics brand will continue with a new first in February. Tortured Hearts No. 1, a 56-page one-shot edition will be hitting stores. Just in time for Valentine’s Day.
It will include dark tales by writers Jordie Bellaire (Redlands), Tini Howard (Excalibur) and Blake Howard (Vampire: The Masquerade), Ann Nocenti (Daredevil), and Amy Roy (EC’s new Epitaphs from the Abyss), alongside artists Sebastián Cabrol (Hulk: Maestro), Fabiana Mascolo (Cyberpunk 2077), Dan McDaid (EC’s Outlaw Showdown), Arjuna Susini (Lamentation), and many more!
Expect the usual EC-themed chills, shocks and thrills with maybe a hint of dark romance.
New EC Oni Press, the multiple Eisner and Harvey Award–winning publisher joins EC-mastermind William M. Gaines Agent, Inc., joined for the edition they’re calling a “coffin-shaped bouquet of brutality forged in the unrelenting tradition of EC Comics!”
As a bonus, the edition includes a newly restored and authentically remastered classic from the EC vaults by William M. Gaines, Al Feldstein, and Reed Crandall!
It’s all coming the second Wednesday in February.
