    Wicked Horror previews the newest issue of Catacomb of Torment, coming September 16 from Oni Press!

     

    The new EC titles capture the spirit of the landmark, controversial horror comics that began in the 1950s with titles such as Tales from the Crypt and Vault of Horror. 

     

    Oni’s modern series Catacomb #15 includes the vignette Wicked Horror has been provided as an early look. That is “Overtime” by writer Jude Ellison S. Doyle (Dead Teenagers), artist PJ Holden (Judge Dredd), colorist Valentina Pinto, and letterer Richard Starkings and Comicraft’s Tyler Smith.

     

    “Overtime” focuses on Mila, a young unpaid intern on her first day at a new company. All her hopes are shattered when a disgruntled man interrupts the work flow with horrible threats and violence. 

     

    This issues is being called the title’s host The Tormentor’s final fatality, though Oni promises she won’t be gone for long.

     

    “Even as the doors of the Catacomb draw closed in our 40-page finale, EC Comics’ most depraved horror hosts conspire to reveal a new legend of lethality that will soon take our readers by surprise!” an Oni spokesman said.

     

    The official synopsis bids readers: “Join us for a fiendish farewell as comics legend James Robinson (Starman, Leave It to Chance) enters the annals of EC history . . . and struggles to leave with all of his skin still attached! Plus: Join fellow comics “all-scars” Ramón F. Bachs (Star Wars: Bounty Hunters), Jude Ellison S. Doyle (Dead Teenagers), Sina Grace (Iceman), David Lapham (Stray Bullets), and more each take one last turn in the Tormentor’s iron maiden . . . and give us an extra-sized, 40-page dose of that EC Comics spectacle de splatter you’ve come to crave!”

     

    Several variant covers will be available.Catacomb of Torment No. 15 is available Sept. 16.

    WOrkers are show friday night still working and wondering if the man with the bomb will really act. Mila the intern wonders if she can go for help but a click interrupts her

    A gun blast off panel leads to Mila being spattered with blood - she looks up to see the man holding a gun with a smoking barrell and in the next panel he aims it toward Mila promising he could really do it.
