Erika Slezak’s character on the American daytime television soap opera General Hospital has finally been revealed after months of speculation. She’s playing Veronica Bard, aka Ronnie, who is Monica’s younger sister. However, there was never a mention of her character on the show until her recent appearance.

Erika Slezak praised Jane Elliot’s acting skills.
“Jane is a master class in acting,” she said in a recent interview with TV Insider. “She is fabulous about running lines and rehearsing. Every time she steps on the set, she is remarkable,” she added. “I work with her a lot, and boy, you really have to bring your ‘A’ game for that,” she continued, while explaining what working with Elliot was like.
Earlier, Slezak played Victoria “Viki” Lord on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live for over four decades. As General Hospital’s current executive producer — Frank Valentini — was also Slezak’s former OLTL boss, Slezak and Elliot go way back. Valentini told Slezak that she will quite often share the screen with Elliot. Reacting to this, Slezak showed utter excitement to work with her. “I went, ‘Yes, I will do it, yes, because that would be such a treat, to work with such a talented, terrific lady,” she explained during the interview.
Slezak mentioned how she got up to speed with Ronnie before arriving on set. “Because she’s a brand-new character with no mention of her ever in the past, it was kind of up to the writers to tell me her background,” she explained. She also teased the drama that will soon unfold, as she mentioned, “Ronnie is constantly confronted by Tracy, who just won’t let it go.”
On September 25, in an update on her official website, Erika Slezak gave the General Hospital team a shout-out. She also mentioned Elliot, writing, “A very special thank you to Jane Elliot, who was as wonderful, delightful, and challenging to work with as I had imagined. She’s positively brilliant!”
