Is High Potential making way for a major makeover in Season 3? It seems like a possibility as star Daniel Sunjata debuted blonde locks on social media amidst Season 3 production.
The actor, who plays the LAPD’s Detective Karadec, took to Instagram on August 13, posting an image of himself holding a cigarette and serving a squint at the camera, teasing the new look. While it’s possible the hair and makeup team could revert Sunjata’s hair to its usual Karadec look, it’s certainly worth pondering.
As fans may recall, Season 2 concluded with Karadec sending his girlfriend and ex-fiancée Lucia (Susan Kelechi Watson) off to jail, which left the detective rather rattled, but without much time to settle into the idea. Could a hair makeover be indicative of Karadec’s status when Season 3 returns? Only time will tell.
Another potential supporting factor for Sunjata sporting blonde hair in Season 3 is that he posted the selfie almost a week after teasing his return to set in a table read photo, featuring his nameplate alongside Kaitlin Olson‘s for her leading role as high-IQ consultant Morgan Gillory.

If the blonde hair is for Karadec’s arc, we can only begin to imagine what prompts the change-up. Whether it’s the aforementioned romantic drama or for an undercover assignment that requires a disguise, the possibilities are endless.
On a more dour note, could the change be prompted by what happened to new Captain Nick Wagner (Steve Howey), whose fate was uncertain at the end of Season 2?
As fans will recall, he’d been stabbed in the park when meeting up with someone who might know something about Morgan’s ex, Roman.
