Jimmy Kimmel Hits Back at Trump’s Latest Late Night Threats With Vicious Cankles Joke

    What To Know

    • Jimmy Kimmel mocked Donald Trump for his excessive posting on Truth Social.
    • Kimmel responded to Trump’s latest threats against late-night hosts by turning Trump’s “limping” insult back on him.
    • The host suggested Trump was upset because Jimmy Kimmel Live! recently won a Peabody Award.

Jimmy Kimmel turned Donald Trump‘s own insult against him on Tuesday night (June 2) after the president once again made another threat against late-night television hosts.

During his opening monologue on Tuesday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the late-night host touched on Trump’s incessant posting of “nonstop nonsense” on the social media app Truth Social. Kimmel cited a recent Daily Beast report that found the president posted 861 times on the site in May. “That’s an average of 27 times a day,” Kimmel noted.

“I don’t know anyone who does anything 27 times a day,” he continued. “He’s posting more than once an hour now—all day and night, around the clock. How does this man have the time to be a doctor and Jesus and also our most out-of-control relative on social media? But I guess that’s what you have to do if you want to make it as an influencer.”

Kimmel quipped, “If Donald Trump did one sit-up every time he posted something, he’d look like Jacob Elordi right now.”

“Last night, Re-Post Malone fired off 47 posts in 31 minutes,” the comedian went on, “including another threat against late-night television.”

He then read from Trump’s post, in which the president boasted of taking out “many bad political leaders and pundits,” including “REALLY DUMB Stephen Colbert of CBS.”

“My score, for two weeks, is 38-0, with three more limping Late Night Talk Show Hosts, including Low Ratings Bill Maher and his Fake “Laughing Machine,” to go,” Trump wrote.

Kimmel responded to Trump’s “limping” jab, saying, “I’m not sure I’d be calling us ‘limping’ when you got cankles like this, honey!” He then showed a photo of Trump’s swollen ankles. “Look at that! It’s like they put a shoe on a balloon animal made out of sausage links.”

“Shouldn’t the president of the United States have more important things to focus on? Like finding a replacement for Milli Vanilli at his Coachella-from-Hella,” Kimmel said, referring to Trump’s disastrous Freedom 250 concert event.

“I think Captain Cankleroo might be upset because our show won a Peabody Award on Sunday night,” the host added. “And it wasn’t a FIFA Peabody, it was a real one.”
