Kelly Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, recently had surgery. Not only did everything go well, but he became a comedian from his hospital bed. Keep reading to learn what the TV personality said to the nurses and Kelly after his procedure.
Mark Consuelos Has Surgery
As previously reported, Kelly Ripa’s husband and co-host, Mark, has been putting off having surgery for a long time. Apparently, the star needed to have surgery on his toe. Mark has developed severe arthritis and chronic pain in his toe. However, that’s all fixed now. Earlier this week, he finally had the operation done. “Today’s the day. I’ve been putting off this toe surgery for about a year,” he says during the September 25 episode.
Of course, Kelly was planning to come to the procedure. However, she was most excited to catch him after the surgery when he would be saying funny things.
“I’m not resisting the opportunity to video capture you coming out of your propofol haze,” she said at the time.
Mark agreed, responding, “That’s right. People say some funny, funny things.”
Now, the surgery is over, and it seems that Mark made all of Kelly’s wishes come true. According to Radar Online, they shared the story of what happened during an episode of their show.
Kelly Ripa Exposes Husband
Kelly did, indeed, attend the surgery, and she even got to witness her husband’s wacky antics post-surgery. Unfortunately, she wasn’t allowed to record. But that isn’t stopping her from describing what happened.
“Typically, I would have a video to show you, but there are signs everywhere in the recovery rooms now saying you aren’t allowed to record the patients recovering,” Kelly says. “I will recreate it for you here on the talk show!”
To start, apparently Mark kept wondering when he would have surgery, even though it was already done.
“The first thing you ask is, when are they taking you to do the surgery? And you asked that about 30 or 40 times,” she says. “I said, ‘It’s over, it’s done.’”
Then, he asked who Kelly was, totally forgetting that she was his wife.
“Finally, you looked at me and said, ‘Who are you?’ And I said, ‘I’m your wife.’ To which you replied, ‘No,’” she explains. “No, it’s fine. I was dying; anybody in the room, there was a lot of laughter happening.”
The laughter didn’t stop there, though. After finding out the nurse numbed his toe, he responded, “Num, num, num, num,” pretending to be eating it.
It seems like Kelly got exactly what she wished for when she was hoping to see Mark be silly after surgery! Thankfully, it seems there were no complications, and they are able to laugh at these silly moments.
