Spiritbox have dropped an immense new single called ‘Soft Spine’ – check it out below.

Arriving as a standalone track, the release comes from the Canadian metal band as they prepare to hit the road with Gojira and KoRn for a huge tour across North America.

As expected, the new song sees Courtney LaPlante and co. break out their signature, eruptive sound, and deliver the same extreme growls that first put them on the map. “String of pearls to keep the bind / Twisting tighter, is it fine? / A constant voyeur in my mind / Insidious by nature / Rewarding sick behaviour,” she sings in the opening verse.

In the chorus, she adds: “Soft spine / Ascending up to meet my eyes wide / I am a witness to your regicide / The dissolution of your soft spine / You all deserve each other.”

The song marks the first new music from Spiritbox since they shared their ‘The Fear of Fear’ EP last year. Their last full-length album arrived in 2021 in the form of their debut album ‘Eternal Blue’.

Spiritbox’s tour with KoRn and Gojira will kick off tomorrow (September 12) with an opening night in Tampa, Florida. LaPlante and Co. will serve as openers, while the French metal band will serve as direct support for KoRn. Find remaining tickets here.

‘Soft Spine’ arrives following the band teasing new music with fans through the means of a puzzle last week.

Fresh from their appearances at Reading and Leeds in August, the puzzle put forward was made up of various symbols that play a split second of music when they are clicked. The pieces need to be moved into the correct sequence in order to progress to the next level.

In other Spiritbox news, it was revealed in January that Spiritbox were working with former Bring Me The Horizon member Jordan Fish.

During an interview with NME last summer, LaPlante explained: “We’re just writing music that we like: sometimes it’s going to be heavy-sounding or feeling; sometimes it’s going to be really beautiful and light-feeling and maybe the lyrics are just a little bit heavy.”

She continued: “I think that we’ll always make heavy music. But it’s fun to know that our fans are accepting of whatever we make. They’re letting us figure ourselves out in real time.

“I like that they’re open-minded, but they’re also really honest. They don’t just lap up anything we do. They’re critical. I hope that we continue to attract really open-minded people.”

In July, the band’s former bassist Bill Crook passed away. No cause of death has yet been confirmed. Crook left Spiritbox in May 2022 and was replaced by former As I Lay Dying bassist Josh Gilbert.
