Mia Goth has taken legal steps to formally end her marriage to Shia LaBeouf. The filing comes more than a year after the couple separated.
As reported by TMZ, the court documents reveal that Goth filed for divorce on Tuesday night. She cited “irreconcilable differences” and listed July 28, 2025, as their separation date. The Infinity Pool actress is seeking primary legal and physical custody of their four-year-old daughter, Isabel. She also asked to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support to either party.
Shia LaBeouf & Mia Goth had been living separate lives
Goth and LaBeouf had been living apart since their July 2025 separation. The pair first met while working on Nymphomaniac: Vol. II in 2012 and began an on-and-off relationship. They married in 2016 before briefly separating again in 2018. They were said to have reconciled in 2020 and later welcomed a new baby into their family.
Their relationship remained a subject of public attention after they went their separate ways. In a February 2026 interview with Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan, LaBeouf said there was “nothing” to repair between them. He also said they were trying to figure out co-parenting and described Goth as a good woman. The actor added that they continued communicating about their daughter.
LaBeouf later moved to New Orleans after the couple went their separate ways. TMZ reported that he was arrested during Mardi Gras in February following an altercation. He later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery charges connected to the incident.
The two have also been linked to separate lives since their relationship ended. LaBeouf has been linked to Nicole Mumphrey following his split from Goth. Meanwhile, Goth has continued working as an actress while caring for their daughter.
Their relationship has now entered a new legal chapter. The pair’s history includes several breakups and reunions over more than a decade. Their co-parenting arrangement will also remain an important part of the divorce proceedings.
