Real Housewives of New York Season 15 Reunion, Part 1 Recap

The Real Housewives of New York Season 15 reunion, Part 1 has arrived. After the wild events of the jaw-dropping RHONY Season 15 finale, it was immediately clear to fans that this was going to be anything but a fun affair. Here’s what went down during Part 1 of the RHONY Season 15 reunion.

What happened during Real Housewives of New York Season 15, Episode 16: The Reunion, Part 1?

The RHONY Season 15 reunion, Part 1, saw the women all get together in the same room for the first time since that fateful night in Puerto Rico. Brynn went in with a smile, but after watching the finale, immediately started to cry. The other ladies tried to hold her to account, and while she did make her apologies, she also made some excuses. Jenna wanted her to listen, especially when it came to how much she had hurt Jessel. Whether or not friendships can be repaired remains to be seen. Here’s a full rundown of the Real Housewives of New York Season 15 reunion, Part 1.

Brynn’s living peacefully in her delusion, but not for long…

For some reason, Brynn approached Jessel’s dressing room to check in and serve up a dose of ignorance. “Everything’s fine, right?” she asked with a grin. No Brynn, everything is not fine. In fact, everything is worse than it has ever been, following the dark accusations flung around in Puerto Rico. I’m rooting for you to come out of the other side of this, but you need to admit your faults and take accountability…

Sadly, Brynn decided to leave watching the RHONY Season 15 finale until she was sitting in her glam AT the reunion. So, through tears, she looked absolutely aghast at what she saw. But not because of her actions; because of the words said by her fellow Real Housewives about the entire affair. Personally, I wish that Brynn had taken the time to absorb the final episode before turning up for the reunion.

As the ladies arrived looking stunning – and very pregnant in the case of Erin – my anxiety peaked. “I think we’re all gonna have a lot of clarity, and I hope for resolution,” Brynn said to the rest of the RHONY cast. “I think a lot of us are still kinda confused,” Erin added, while Ubah remained zen. She claimed she was “happy” to be with everybody, and was ready to get started. So, when Jenna’s sunglasses came off, she entered the hot seat.

Jenna comes under fire for not speaking about her relationship during RHONY Season 15

Andy wanted to know why Jenna’s partner Cass avoided him at a party. Apparently, she was just ready to go home. But as viewers know, Jenna and Cass’ relationship isn’t something that is explored on the show. “Is there a part of you that wishes you could show people your relationship?” Andy asked. But Jenna worries Cass would get canceled if some of her comments made it to air.

Meanwhile, Jenna also confirmed that her “marriage” wasn’t a legal one. “We had a very playful, emotional ceremony with friends in Texas, but it’s not legal. We’re not in a hurry.”

Jenna promised to work on being more candid with the RHONY ladies about her relationship. Especially because she doesn’t mind opening up to the press.

Chatter then turned to Sai’s random feud with Pavit. He called her a “bipolar b*tch,” and she said he looked like Dory from Finding Nemo. Neither has apologized to the other, and it’ll probably stay that way (despite Jessel claiming he does want to say sorry). I’m Team Sai, if only because Pavit thinks Elon Musk should be put on a pedestal, while turning his nose up at Beyoncé. Dumbass.

Andy also touched on Racquel’s relationship with her mom. She’s still not visited in New York, and grandma hasn’t been in touch with the grandchildren. iPad issues are blamed, but I just think Racquel and her family deserves better. Especially in these trying times. Pick a lane, and protect your loved ones. Racquel, you’re a real one, and you should be proud you brought such an important topic to the small screen. I hope you and your kids can put your peace first.

Did Sai put Brynn through hell for popularity?

“You put me through hell,” Brynn told Sai through tears. She thinks Sai – and Erin – were going at her for the first five weeks of filming due to Brynn’s popularity after her RHONY debut. Now, Sai’s a fan favorite.

“What did I do that made your life miserable?” Sai asked, with Erin also jumping in. “I screamed at you once and I made your life miserable?”

Andy wants some clarity on the torment. Sai screamed at her on the first night, and Brynn felt that for five weeks. The fact that Erin called her a “bad friend,” “nuts,” and “dumb” also didn’t help.

I must admit, I was completely Team Brynn during these first couple of episodes. It felt like an attempt at a major takedown, so I understand why Brynn felt how she did. Unfortunately, her behavior throughout the rest of the season reflected a pot stirring personality that was unbecoming.

“I don’t need to be creative and elaborate stories,” Brynn said. Sai accuses her of embellishing the stories. “You lie and it is irritating.”

“Sometimes when you retell a story, the intent of the original story gets lost and the person on the other end gets hurt. We’re just asking [you] to acknowledge that, and you keep defending it…” Jenna tries to explain. But Brynn already looks completely checked out. It appears that at this point, she has realized this reunion will be The Trial of Brynn Whitfield.

Brynn explains her one “crazy text” referring to herself as “carbon monoxide” was as a result of being triggered following that Jeff Lewis radio conversation. After Brynn revealing she was sexually assaulted this season, it’s clear why.

Oh, and Jenna wants to return her $1500 Balenciaga robe.

Brynn opens up about her sexual assault

“I’m still healing from something,” Brynn told Andy. From viewers, she’s heard about “the shame of it all – living with it day to day. It’s not just one of these things you can go around and tell. To have everyone know something so personal, as a woman, it’s just different.”

Andy asks if she “masks” her “shame with humor,” and Brynn thinks that’s a fair assessment. “I just keep going.” Brynn then also reveals that her assaulter was “someone who was courting me” – and someone she still sees around New York.

“I understand why people commit heinous crimes,” she says through tears, and laughter. And while she’s considered pressing charges, “it’s so hard. It’s harder than you think; it’s hard to prove.”

While she talks, Ubah gets emotional. “You go home, you take a bath, you try not to put bleach water in the bath…” Brynn explains.

“The problem is, women often don’t get treated well when they do out people. Particularly in your instance where there is no proof,” Jenna explains when Erin asks for the guy to be outed. It was very tone-deaf for Erin – the woman who once donated to a campaign for Mr Grab ‘Em By the P*ssy himself – to say Brynn should out her abuser.

“It actually puts the woman who has been [assaulted] on trial,” Jenna says.

Andy asks Ubah about her tears, and she is clearly cut up by Brynn’s story. “I’m sorry,” she says, and Brynn replies, “I know you are.” I hope these two can get to a good place. They have love for one another, but whether they can ever be as close as they once were? I’m not entirely sure…

Jenna calls out Brynn for dunking on Jessel’s marriage

Jessel and Pavit are having sex again – they’ve even got a schedule! “Once or twice a week is a minimum,” she tells the ladies. Andy seems impressed, and I’m just wondering why these couples aren’t having more sex. Maybe I shouldn’t ever get married…

Then we flashback to the conversation Brynn had with Sai and Erin, in which it appears Brynn suggests Jessel once said Pavit wasn’t the love of her life, but it was in fact an ex-boyfriend.

“You distorted my words,” Jessel says of Brynn. Apparently, the ex-boyfriend was actually who gave her the “wildest sex” of her life.

Jessel continues: “Imagine having to sit there with Pavit on the f*cking couch and having to watch that back. F*ck you for one second and let me talk. It was gut-wrenching. I was destroyed. I called Ubah and I was like, ‘Did I say that?’ What the f*ck are you talking about? Factcheck, Brynn. Check your f*cking facts. This is the problem with you.”

Pavit remained quiet while watching the episode, but Jessel reveals he did doubt his wife. “He thought I was lying,” she explained. “Why would you say that? And now, not only that, my family has to watch that sh*t … it’s f*cked up.”

Brynn admits she was wrong, and apologizes. She knows it’s not enough; especially after using the gossip to bond with the other women.

“I’m questioning your character to my core,” Jessel admits. “All you do is f*cking beat me down. I’m sick of it … how am I supposed to be your friend?”

Jenna then gets emotional, and calls out Brynn.

“I didn’t know that that was not true. The fact that you would put somethinglike that on national television is really sh*tty Brynn … you need to apologize and be quiet because that sucks. It is not okay … it’s so damaging.”

Brynn then tries to pivot to how everybody was going off about her the whole season, but Jenna’s not going to let it slide.

“Just stop talking. Just stop. It’s so f*cked up. An apology is action. An apology is no more f*cking words, because honestly, the spin is really dark and I just cannot believe that you would do that to her.”

And here, the first part of the reunion ends. Next week, Rebecca Minkoff joins the stage, and the ladies get to talking about that devastating season finale. Grab your tissues; it’s gonna be emotional.

The Real Housewives of New York is available to stream on Peacock.
