RHONJ Producers Should Have Covered Rachel Fuda Pregnant

Season 14 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey was full of divisive drama. Teresa Giudice and her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, refused to speak to each other. Awkward! Plus Rachel Fuda and Margaret Josephs also feuded with Teresa.

Meanwhile, Danielle Cabral and Jennifer Aydin were involved in a physical altercation that earned them both a temporary suspension. The only person who could flow between groups was Dolores Catania.

It was so tense during the Season 14 finale that the reunion was scrapped. There seemed to be no path forward with this cast. That led Andy Cohen to announce that cast changes were in the works. However, fans won’t hear any news about casting for quite a while. Of course, the show could be rebooted with a brand-new cast, like The Real Housewives of New York. Or Bravo could bring back some of the cast and sprinkle in some newbies to freshen up the franchise.

However, in my opinion, Bravo missed out on including a feel-good story from the season. Let’s see how RHONJ producers missed a trick by not capturing Rachel Fuda’s pregnancy journey.

Real Housewives of New Jersey has always been about family

RHONJ has always revolved around family. During the first season of the show, we were introduced to the Manzo family. Caroline Manzo’s brother, Chris Laurita, was married to Jacqueline Laurita, who was besties with Teresa.

In earlier seasons, fans watched Teresa, her former husband Juicy Joe Giudice, and their four daughters. We saw baptisms, holiday parties, and their daughters’ milestones. We also had a front-row seat to Teresa and Joe’s separate stints in prison for fraud and Juicy’s deportation. In the end, the couple divorced.

When Teresa’s brother Joe Gorga and his wife Melissa joined the show in Season 3, the storyline was always about trying to unite Teresa and Joe. For a while, their relationship would be good, only to sour again. And let’s face it, there was no love lost between Teresa and Melissa.

By the time Teresa wed Luis Ruelas, Joe and Melissa skipped their wedding. During the Season 13 reunion, Teresa cut ties with her brother and Melissa. So, Season 14 was weird, and the finale showdown between Teresa and Melissa was full of vitriol.

If RHONJ producers had shown Rachel and John Fuda’s pregnancy journey, it would have brought the show back to its center – family. Only without the toxicity and negativity. With such a dark season, seeing a happy family would have brought some light back to the show.

After filming for Season 14 wrapped, Rachel and John decided to pursue IVF again. They used IVF to conceive their daughters, Gianella and Giuliana. Rachel, who adopted John’s son from a prior relationship, 18-year-old Jaiden, felt like the time was right. It was a daunting process because Rachel had to stop the medications that she used to treat her arthritis.

Thankfully, they were successful. “We’re so excited. “We’re ready to be a party of six!” Rachel revealed when she announced her pregnancy. “John and I always felt like our family wasn’t complete.” She continued, “I feel like my true purpose in life is being a mom. I mean, what’s better than to bring life into the world? How lucky am I?” Rachel added.

Following Rachel’s IVF journey would have been a moving story for RHONJ. Instead of the same old feuds, we could see the Fudas trying to fulfill their dream of completing their family.

When the cast met up once again to watch the Season 14 finale of RHONJ, Rachel had some happy news to share. However, the cast was in two separate rooms so that no one became spicy. Of course, everyone was thrilled by Rachel’s baby news. At least the group in Rachel’s room, which included Melissa, Margaret, Danielle, and Jenn Fessler. It was nice to see some joy to end the tumultuous season.

Real Housewives of New Jersey could have filmed all of Rachel Fuda’s pregnancy milestones

Rachel and John decided to share the news that they were expecting a baby boy while they were at Disney World. Then, Rachel celebrated her baby at a French-themed baby shower in January 2025. This was Rachel’s only baby shower. She couldn’t have one for her daughters because of COVID-19 protocols. Among the guests were Margaret, Jenn Fessler, Danielle, and Melissa.

Finally, on February 19, 2025, Lorenzo Antonio Fuda entered the world. “With the birth of our last baby, our family has grown into everything we ever dreamed – a beautiful circle of six hearts, bound by love, laughter, and the journey we’ve shared,” Rachel told PEOPLE. “This little soul is our final piece, the sweetest ending to a chapter of beginnings, and the start of a lifetime of cherished moments together.” She added, “Our hearts are fuller, our home is brighter – our baby boy is here, and I am so grateful to be a mother again.”

The name Lorenzo means “from the town of bay trees.” However, his middle name, Antonio, has a special family tie for both Rachel and John. Lorenzo’s middle name honors Rachel’s beloved late grandmother, Anna Del Vescovo. In addition, Ida Fuda, John’s grandmother, worshipped St. Anthony. Plus, little Lorenzo was born on the same day as John’s grandfather, Joseph Fuda.

If RHONJ producers had captured Rachel Fuda’s pregnancy journey, it would have brought the show back to its core values. Even giving the Fudas a Bravo special would have been a gift to fans who long for the feel-good days of Jersey.

Real Housewives of New Jersey is available to stream on Peacock.
