Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce might be dealing with fresh tension over their new Ohio home. It was reported that a neighbor has blasted the couple as “absentee” owners while trying to block their fence and tree plans. However, the board seemingly approved the fence. The dispute reportedly isn’t over yet.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce reportedly spark new neighborhood fury over Ohio home renovations
Neighbors reportedly call Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce ‘absentee’ owners amid Ohio mansion fence fight, per report. According to the Daily Mail, the couple wants a six-foot black aluminum fence and lots of tall trees around their $5.35 million mansion in Bratenahl, a Lake Erie village near Cleveland. Longtime residents have reportedly raised everything from deer getting hurt on the fence’s spiked railings to concerns about sewage backups.
Neighbor Katherine Bolton reportedly called the news a “tremendous blow” to the peace and quiet of the village. She allegedly told the board that the new owner is not going to be around. Bolton also seemingly suggested that the couple may not stay long. “This applicant may decide to sell her house next year,” she said.
Furthermore, Bolton reportedly said that she is in talks with the couple’s attorney over a century-old clay sewer pipe shared with the mansion. She allegedly was quoted $75,000 to line the pipe against tree roots. She also claimed that planting 50 evergreens so close to it could cause “catastrophic sewage backups.”
Another neighbor reportedly complained about the cleared shrubbery and warned that the fence’s points have caught deer. A village official apparently said that happens “occasionally.” A former village council president also seemingly argued that a fence wouldn’t keep out paparazzi, and that drones are a bigger threat.
At a hearing on Tuesday, the board approved the front landscaping but held off on the shoreline trees, which would stand too tall. Hence, the couple must likely come back a third time with a fresh plan. Meanwhile, the couple’s team allegedly hit back, insisting they have bent over backwards to keep the peace.
