While everyone is hoping to change the dangerous political landscape of our globe, the nostalgic band THE AMERICAN RELICS take us back to simpler times through their songwriting and music. On September 21, 2024 @ Times Square THE AMERICAN RELICS were featured in an unprecedented 5 hour live concert and worldwide broadcast and celebration of the 40th Anniversary of International Peace Day. “Pause The World for Peace” was hosted by the Good News Corporation and Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine and produced by Paul Sladkus and OMMM.
The program began with a virtual moment of silence and cease fire global plea by Ringo Starr, encouraging peace speeches and inspiring meditation from FOWPAL, and advocates of Peace. It was followed by talent opened by Composer Randy Edelman and his Thanksgiving Prayer as well as Keith Shocklee founder of Public Enemy, AY Young and his Concert For Impact, Grammy winner Jilly Yeah, singer Irene Michaels, The King Moore Unity Project, award winning International cross over artist Giorgia Fumanti and many others.
Also featured at Times Square was the biggest Peace and Friendship Tree standing 10 feet tall and 26 feet wide containing over 30 thousand pieces courtesy, the American Oriental Arts Foundation. It was surrounded by 12 International models.
The Forever Woodstock segment of the program showcased the talents of frontman and guitarist John Gitano, Keyboardist Bill Gulino, Drummer John McCann, Guitarist Neal Lazar, vocalist Adrienne Dugger, bassist Nelson Montana and guitarist Patty Jarman, all consisting of THE AMERICAN RELICS. The band shares the love for music influences of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, songs that echo with the familiar but are still relevant today. They performed their YouTube hit released via Tribeca Records “The Eyes of 1969.”
People were in front of the stage dancing to their music. Their sound and performance was spot-on. They promoted joy with heart to a day already filled with Peace and Love.
The Relics will be heading to Nashville October 26/27 for The Josie Music Awards, the biggest and most prestigious awards show for independent artists where they were nominated in 2 categories.
