Cleland is a 33-year-old West Linn, Oregon, native, and like her beau, she’s got an artistic background. She’s a self-taught abstract painter, according to her website. She often posts photos of her acrylic works on her social media, which her new husband occasionally likes or comments on with heart emojis. She performed “One Minute More,” his only duet on his debut album, Where The Light Gets In. About a month earlier, Cleland acted in Barnes’ music video for his track “Nevermind.”
Cleland herself has shown off her singing chops on social media. After being rejected from the competition two times, she got a Golden Ticket during Season 12 of American Idol, reaching the semifinals. She watched her mother perform growing up and was inspired to try out for the show after Kelly Clarkson‘s win.
