    What Happened To Tommy Chauvin?

Tommy Chauvin, also known as Trigger Tommy, is a well-known figure from the reality TV show Swamp People. The show, which premiered in 2010, follows the lives of alligator hunters in the Atchafalaya River Basin in Louisiana. Tommy became famous for his impressive skills as an alligator hunter and his close relationship with his stepfather, Joe Lafont, who was also a key part of the show. Together, they made a powerful team and were beloved by fans for their teamwork and unique bond.

    Joe Lafont’s Health Complications

Tommy and his stepfather, Joe Lafont, had been hunting alligators together for many years before the show began. They shared a deep knowledge of the swamps and a special technique for hunting alligators. Joe taught Tommy everything he knew, including how to make their famous gator bait, known as “goo-goo” juice. Their chemistry on the show was undeniable, and viewers loved watching them tackle challenges and hunt alligators. Tommy’s instincts as a hunter were unmatched, and he quickly became a fan favorite.

However, in Season 6 of Swamp People, Joe Lafont had to leave the show due to health problems, which left Tommy to continue hunting alone. Despite the change, Tommy proved he could handle the challenges of alligator hunting on his own. He moved to Violet, Louisiana, and kept going with the lessons and skills Joe had taught him. Tommy continued hunting in the swamps, earning respect from both his fellow hunters and viewers alike.

    Tommy’s Terrible Accident

Tragically, Tommy’s life took a dark turn in 2019. After filming Season 9 of Swamp People, he was involved in a terrible accident with explosives. The blast caused serious injuries to Tommy, including ruptured eardrums, damaged eyes, and deep cuts on his chest and arms. Most devastating of all, Tommy lost his right hand and thumb in the explosion. He was lucky to survive, but the accident left him unable to continue his alligator hunting career.

Tommy’s recovery was long and difficult. He had to relearn basic tasks, and he even needed surgery to regain the use of his left hand. During this time Tommy started a GoFundMe page to raise money for his medical expenses, and he received support from his fans. Despite the progress he made in recovering, Tommy ultimately decided to retire from alligator hunting. His injuries were too severe for him to return to the swamp, and he chose to focus on his health and healing.

Since his retirement, Tommy has kept a low profile. He has not returned to reality TV, and he rarely appears in public. The only way fans can hear from him now is through his Facebook page, where he occasionally shares updates about his life. Tommy now lives a quieter life, spending time with his dog Butch and enjoying the peace after years of danger and drama in the swamps. He has also shared a few posts about his love life, though it seems he is currently single. Tommy Chauvin’s story is one of strength and resilience. Fans of Swamp People will always remember him as one of the most skilled and fearless hunters to ever appear on the show.
