Why Fans Think Cruz Will Die in Chicago Fire Season 13

Chicago Fire fans are worried that Cruz might not survive long in the show. The recent episode has introduced a storyline that puts the character in danger, hinting that it might be the end of the road for him. However, will Cruz really die soon in Chicago Fire?

Here’s everything we know about whether Joe Miñoso will leave the series as Joe Cruz.

Will Joe Minoso’s Cruz die in Chicago Fire Season 13?

There has been no official confirmation stating that Joe Cruz will die soon in Chicago Fire.

Fans are worried that this might be the last we see of Cruz in the show because of what happened at the end of Season 13 Episode 8. The episode builds up to what seems like another dramatic storyline for the character. In the episode, we saw Cruz discover a bullet in his locket and another on his car window. This immediately sets a tone of danger looming ahead for the him. The show then ties it all back to an old storyline.

The episode reintroduces the Insane Kings and their ties with Cruz. OG Chicago Fire fans will remember that Cruz’s brother Leon was connected with the gang. The arc ended with Cruz leaving the gang leader Flaco to burn to death, in order to protect his brother.

At present, Flaco’s cousin is out of prison and is looking to avenge his cousin. The very final scene of the latest episode showed him confronting Cruz at the church. Needless to say, Cruz is certainly in danger now, with fans believing that it might be the end of the road for him. However, that does seem pretty unlikely because the show often kills character when they’re on call.

Since, we have seen mostly heroic deaths for the major characters in the past, it is safe to assume that Cruz may not be killed off via gang association. Besides, Cruz’s actor Joe Miñiso has not dropped any hints that he might be leaving the show soon. Chicago Fire returns on January 8 next year, so fans will just have to wait and see how this new storyline progresses.
