Why Sister Wives Star Janelle Brown Might ‘Lawyer Up’ Against Ex-Husband Kody

In Episode 2 of Sister Wives Season 19, Janelle Brown dropped a bomb. Janelle claimed she was done playing nice with her ex-husband. The reality star has left Kody Brown, and she is tired of waiting for the patriarch to figure out his life. Especially since she is more than ready to move on. The family land, Coyote Pass, has been a thorn in Janelle’s side for years. And she is ready to bring out the big guns to win.

Janelle Brown isn’t playing games and is ready to take legal action against Kody Brown

In Sunday’s September 22 episode of Sister Wives, Janelle laid down the gauntlet as she told Christine Brown she might need to “lawyer up.” Janelle’s stance was refreshing to viewers who agree she is entitled to what is hers. Even if her former spouse can’t seem to make a decision. Sister Wives viewers were given a behind-the-scenes look at what has really been going down within the polygamous family. Janelle, who usually doesn’t open up about her emotions, added, “It’s insane to me that Kody is not taking this more seriously.”

The Sister Wives star then explained how Coyote Pass was divided up, sharing, “The first two-acre lot right now is Kody and I;  the second two-acre lot is Kody and Robyn; the third is a four-acre lot and it’s Meri, myself and Kody; and then the five-acre lot — because Christine quit — is Kody and Robyn.” The land is important to Janelle because it “represents basically the only asset we would be taking from the marriage.”

Janelle dove deeper into the family issues, adding, “If Kody’s not willing to buy me out, then I’m going to have to do something with it. But we’ve got to pay it off, and he’s not talking to me about it.”

Janelle isn’t afraid to go up against Kody

Janelle revealed, “So I think I’m going to have to lawyer up because I think that’s the only way I’m ever going to get any kind of decision out of him.” Even amid the admission, Janelle seemed exhausted by the idea of a fight. She divulged to Christine, “Part of it is, I really have no legal rights to make any kind of claim on Kody’s property. Like, we’re not legally married. It’s not like I’m just calling a lawyer and saying I need to divorce this person. No, it’s really complicated because there’s no legal marriage.”

Hopefully, Janelle can get what’s coming to her without having to fight a war. But with Kody, you never know what you’re going to get.

Sister Wives Season 19 continues Sundays at 10/9c on TLC.
