Andy Cohen Calls Karen Huger’s Guilty DUI Verdict ‘Very Sad’

Andy Cohen Calls Karen Huger’s Guilty DUI Verdict ‘Very Sad’

Season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac has focused heavily on Karen Huger’s DUI arrest. Of course, Karen has been expertly deflecting any questions about her accident. She did feel that her innocence would be upheld when she had her day in court. However, that did not happen. Now Bravo’s national treasure Andy Cohen is weighing in on Karen’s guilty verdict.

Andy Cohen said that he hasn’t “processed” Karen Huger’s guilty verdict yet

Back in March, Karen’s vehicle reportedly crossed a median, slamming into several street signs. Thankfully, Karen wasn’t injured in the accident. However, the body cam footage of that night was eye-opening.

The jury in Karen’s trial deliberated for more than five hours. The “jury was reportedly deadlocked before being sent back to deliver a verdict.” That verdict, handed down on December 18, 2024, was guilty of driving under the influence, failure to control speed to avoid a collision, failure to notify authorities of an address change, and negligent driving. She was acquitted of the charge of reckless driving.

Now, Andy is sharing his thoughts on the RHOP OG’s situation. “I think it’s all sad,” Andy told PEOPLE. “I haven’t really processed it yet. But I think it’s very sad.”

Initially, the prosecution was seeking 60 days in jail for Karen, but she decided to fight the charges. Karen’s legal team hoped that a jury trial would be more favorable and end up with no jail time for her. Unfortunately for Karen, she is facing up to two years in prison. Her sentencing is scheduled for January 29, 2025.

Of course, Karen’s attorney, A. Scott Bolden, also spoke out. “Although we are disappointed in the jury’s verdict, we, of course, respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case.” The lawyer continued, “We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger’s right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf. We appreciate your support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family at this time.”

Real Housewives of Potomac continues on Sunday nights at 8/7c on Bravo.
