‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Is Krista Allen Coming Back As Taylor?

Dr. Taylor Hayes has worn many faces on The Bold and the Beautiful. However, some fans suspect one of her actresses, Krista Allen, could be making their return to the soap. Taking to social media, many fans are debating what the soap should do with the character.

Krista Allen First Appeared On The Bold and the Beautiful As A Different Character

Allen has had a prominent career in soaps. She first appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful in 1995 playing a character named Shelly.

During the mid to late-1990s, she would play Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives, temporarily taking on the role from Lisa Rinna.

In 2021, she would rejoin the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful as Taylor Hayes. Allen took on the role from Hunter Tylo. However, as noted by Soap Opera Digest, it was believed she would leave the role in 2023.

Following this, the character was then cast with Rebecca Budig. Like Allen, Budig is a soap opera veteran, appearing on shows like Guiding Light, All My Children, and General Hospital.

Despite this, some fans suspect that Taylor could be coming back. After all, temporary casting is nothing new in the world of soaps. Taking to social media, one fan asked, “Is this Taylor a temporary recast and when will Krista [Allen] be back?”

Some fans noted that they thought, if not a return to The Bold and the Beautiful, Allen could find a fit on another soap. As one fan shared, “Krista Allen was mistakenly fired years ago because the dumb writers didn’t know what to do with her character.”

“She currently lives in Atlanta. I am hoping she will join CBS new soap Beyond the Gates as that is probably the only chance we will see her in soaps again.”

In the comments, the original poster shared, “I just can’t see her as Taylor. What a casting disaster. I feel uncomfortable watching her.”

Still, others came to the current actress’ defense, saying that any issue is really with the character. As one fan mused, “Not a knock at anyone’s talent because every actress who has played Taylor thus far is very talented.”

“But I don’t think there’s anyone out there who could make anything good of the way Taylor’s written currently. There’s absolutely nothing to the character whatsoever.”

Some Bold and the Beautiful Fans Pointed Out The Only Taylor They Know Is Rebecca Budig

Another fan agreed with this, noting the issue had been going on for years. As they shared, “They should have left the Taylor character dead. If Hunter Tylo had to come back to Bold, she could have came back as a new character that had nothing to with Ridge and Brooke.”

Other fans shared similar sentiments. A few thought Allen should return, while others agreed that the character was the bigger issue.

On the other hand, some fans felt like the actress has already moved on. Some comments included:

    • “They should have kept her and Brooke’s friendship and bring in a new love interest for her. There are so many out of work soap actors that would have been good in the role.”
    • “The problem with Taylor is that she has the same blinders as Ridge: Steffy can do no wrong. I like when soaps have a ‘mean girl’ whose only conscience comes from her mother. Even Sheila had one when she was on Y&R. The poor lady died in a fire when Lauren was trying to escape being kidnapped by Sheila.”
    • “K.A. has moved on. Whether this Tiny Taylor will stick around is anyone’s guess.”
    • “No, Krista was let go a few years back.”
    • “I don’t know any other Taylor, so to me she is fine. Only been watching for a year or so.”
    • “It doesn’t matter who’s playing her if they don’t have any idea what to do with her. No one could make the dialogue sound good and well written.”
