Spider-Man: Brand New Day has set more records, charting the biggest Tuesday ever at the domestic box office with $42 million. It’s also the highest-grossing movie YTD with $1.1 billion worldwide, pulling ahead of Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 5, which is at $1.07B global.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s U.S./Canada Tuesday beats that of Sony/Marvel’s own Spider-Man: Far From Home, which banked $39.2M for its opening Tuesday on July 2, 2019. The domestic running cume through five days for Brand New Day is $449M, which makes it the second-highest-grossing Stateside in 2026 for now. It soon will topple Toy Story 5, which as of Wednesday has a running cume of $464.6M.
This weekend, Brand New Day could be looking at a record second frame at the box office. If it eases 60% to $144M, it will be the third-best sophomore frame ever; the top second weekends belong to Star Wars: The Force Awakens with $149.2M in 2015 and Avengers: Endgame with $147.3M in 2019.

This weekend, in North America, Spidey will share Imax auditoriums with the fourth weekend of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. Also opening this weekend is Universal’s romantic comedy One Night Only, starring Monica Barbaro and Callum Turner, with an eye at mid-single-digit millions at 3,000 theaters. The hope is for this to be a sleeper in Spider-Man‘s swath at the box office.
Additionally, Searchlight has the Vermont state trooper comedy Super Troopers 3 booked at 2,700 sites with an eye at $9M-$10M. The previous chapter in 2018 was a huge opening surprise Stateside with $15.1M. (Why? It opened on 4/20.) The Horror Section has Eli Roth’s genre title Ice Cream Man at 1,700 theaters, which is looking like low single digits.
