    Dark comedy Buddy from Roadside Attractions and Saban Films is sailing along at no. 7 for the three-day weekend with $5.75 million on 1,771 screens (up 500) in week 2 for a hefty cume of $14.3 million.

    For the four days, including the U.S. Labor Day holiday, the estimated gross is $7.2 million, cume $15.7 million. In the late summer indie horror hit by Casper Kelly, children trapped inside the seemingly cheerful world of a ’90 television series begin to defy its tyrannical orange unicorn host (voiced by Keegan-Michael Key).

    Oscilloscope’s annual feline compilation CatVideoFest 2026 by Will Braden grossed $76k in week 5 on 32 screens for the three days, stepping past the $1 million mark. Over the four days, it’s seeing a $92k gross. The feature length production that’s become a summer staple will continue its international expansion through the end of the year, adding France, Denmark and the U.K.

    “CatVideoFest continues to surprise and delight us with just how far it can travel,” Oscilloscope says. “We’re thrilled by this year’s momentum and excited to keep expanding into new territories,” says Oscilloscope.

    Jimmy Buffett documentary Occupational Hazard: The First Coral Reefers from Evan Saxon Productions, narrated by Jeff Bridges, debuted at Key West Theater grossing $5.2 from two sold-out screenings. The doc journeys back to the 1970s-early ’80s with the story of Jimmy Buffett’s original Coral Reefer Band. Set against the creative backdrop of Key West, it explores the musicians, friendships, touring years, and studio sessions that helped shape Buffett’s legendary sound. Will expand to about 70 locations through October.

    New releases: Adam Wingard’s slasher-action Onslaught from A24 launched to $1.9 million for the three-day weekend and an estimated $2.3 million for the four days on 1,918 screens.

    Well Go USA Entertainment’s Chinese hit family drama Dear You opened to $190.3k for the three-day weekend from 160 locations, as per Rentrak.

    The Sun Never Sets from IFC Films Entertainment Group opened to $145k three-day and and a $175k four-day gross for a cume of $191k at 375 theaters.

    Holdovers: A24’s Tony by Matt Johnson grossed circa $1.3 million for the three days and $1.5 for the four days on 773 screens for a cume of $13.8 million. Olivia Wilde’s The Invite added $123k for the four-day weekend for a $26 million cume as it winds down its theatrical run.

    Mubi’s Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma is at a $343k for the threee days and an estimated $421k for the four with a cume of $6.2 million in week 5 for the Jane Schoenbrun film at 229 theaters.

    Documentary American Doctor from Watermelon Pictures is looking at an $111k gross for the three days and $141k for the four days at 53 theaters for a cume of $345k as it expanded into the top 25 art markets, including sold out shows in D.C., Minneapolis and Austin. Will be in the top 50 art markets next weekend.

    Kino Lorber is estimating a $62k three-day gross for Filipiñana on 16 screens in week 2 for a $128k cume.

    The Cycle Of Love from Variance Films is reporting $14.6k for the three-days ($32k cume) and $17.4k for the four days in week two on 3 screens. Begins its national expansion next weekend, adding over 20 markets.
