Captain Jason Chambers Reacts to Below Deck Med Drama

Nothing heralds a series’ success as when cast members become each others biggest fans. In the case of Captain Jason Chambers and Aesha Scott, they had a palpable respect and fondness for one another as crew members on Below Deck Down Under.

But now that Aesha has moved on to Below Deck Mediterranean, Captain Jason has started keeping up with show. The Bravolebrity has added Med to his lineup of Below Deck viewing.

Captain Jason Chambers never used to “watch Med that much”

“I have been watching Below Deck Mediterranean for sure [since] Aesha [Scott] is on it. I don’t usually watch Med that much, I might just slip in and get some bites of it,” Jason exclusively told Us Weekly . “I don’t mind watching Sailing, I like watching Captain Glenn [Shephard] and I watch Captain Kerry [Titheradge] on Below Deck and I like watching [Chief Stew] Fraser [Olender] work. This season I’ve been watching all of the Med because Aesha is on it.”

Basically, it sounds like Jason likes to compare notes with other captains on the series. He spoke extensively about some of the Below Deck Med drama this season, including how he would have dealt with Chef Johnathan Shillingford. He also touched on the interior drama that his chief stew had to deal with.

Captain Jason wants to treat his crew like a “success story”

“In the real world, we want to try and keep them and improve them to the point that they succeed. That makes us feel better as captains that we’ve actually accomplished what we’ve set out. But when it comes to these franchises, we do only have nine weeks. We don’t have a year or six months so we want to try to see a result,” Jason said of turnover on his yachts.

Presumably, the reality TV star was referring to Bri Muller’s irredeemable laundry room management.

“If we as captains don’t see that result actually coming out at the end of nine weeks, we will make a decision. Because we want to see a success story,” Jason concluded. “We come to the boat and we don’t know the boat or the crew. We want to put that crew together and walk away with the best outcome…’”

Catch Below Deck Mediterranean Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
