The news of Real Housewives of London is still fresh in fans’ minds. Let’s be honest: the birth of a new franchise helped us get through the work week. Naturally, there is already speculation about who might become a Real Housewives star. London is a vibrant city filled with socialites, local and foreign. So it will be interesting to see who they cast in the newest role. One contender is Fran Cutler, but who is she, and why would she be a good addition? Let’s take a look.
Fran Cutler is a London icon
Fran is one of the names floating around the Real Housewives of London casting call. She was dubbed the ‘party rottweiler’ in the 1990s thanks to her star-studded bashes and exclusive guest lists. She grew up in Islington and is a pub owner’s daughter. The PR guru was the woman behind all the hottest gatherings on the Primrose Hill social calendar. Fran was known to say no to many wanna-be guests, especially when she planned parties for Kate Moss and Sadie Frost. She was also put in charge of planning hedonistic parties for Jude Law. Fran was so successful she started her own party planning business, Fran Cutler Design, and was dubbed the “Queen of Parties.” Fran moves in some of London’s biggest social circles. She recently hung out with Cara Delevingne, Leah Mason, and actress Sienna Miller while in St. Tropez.
The London icon also worked as a contributing editor to Tatler. Fran once told 10 Magazine the key to a good party is “The venue, people, great music and lots of booze! The biggest misconceptions about my job are that I’m out every night and that it’s incredibly glamorous.” Fran shared that her favorite people to party with are “always changing because people can’t keep up with me! People always fall by the wayside. Obviously, my main stake is Kate Moss and all my gays – I can’t just pick one.”
Fran Cutler was once friends with Kate Moss
The two high-powered women were best friends until a massive falling out occurred in 2018. Fran and Kate have been confidants for over 20 years. But one testing snafu stopped their relationship in its tracks. It was rumored that Fran inadvertently sent a photo with a few scathing comments to Kate herself instead of the intended recipient. Fran had mocked her looks and fashion choices. A source via Daily Mail shared, “She meant to send her observations to a friend.” The supermodel was not thrilled and cut Fran off from her friendship circle.
Those close to the situation thought the two might eventually resolve their issues, but they didn’t. Both were seen attending the funeral for Annabelle Neilson, where they exchanged a few pleasantries. By the end of 2018, the pair’s mutual friend, Kara Rose Marshall, was said to have mended fences. Around the same time, Fran’s daughter attended Kate’s daughter’s sweet 16 at the Dorchester Hotel.
Fran Cutler has two children
Even though Fran might be stepping back from the party scene, her 23-year-old daughter is looking to take over the family business. Mercy Magic Cutler recently graduated from Imperial College London with a Masters in Physics and held a private party as the members’ only Apollo’s Muse at Bacchanalia in Mayfair. Mercy is a chip off the old block and clearly loves a fancy dress party. She is a private equity analyst, according to her LinkedIn profile. She works at Hyca, which is a “private equity fund manager that invests in the hydrogen economy and net zero to create a sustainable future.”
Fran’s younger daughter is Etta Cutler, a costume designer in London. Etta is also a recent graduate with a merit from the London Screen Academy. Currently, she is gaining hands-on experience as a Costume Trainee on a new film directed by Nick Love and featuring Danny Dyer. Like their mother, both girls have social connections with friends like Stevie Sims, Maya Wingram, and Lila Moss. Both daughters are seasoned travelers and love the fashion world. It seems the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree with these two.
