DEAD AIR #3: “DEAD AIR #3 is the latest installment in the DEAD AIR series from writer and creator Benjamin Hunting (Model UN, Code 45) and artist Joe Ng (Transformers, Transformers/G.I. Joe). Building on the momentum of the previous campaign, which drew over 400 backers and shattered stretch goals, this new issue raises the stakes even higher. In DEAD AIR #3, the story shifts between the nostalgia of the 1990s and a turbulent present, as readers witness the cast reunite for the first time as adults. The past collides with the present in a gripping narrative that weaves together tragedy and hope. DEAD AIR #3 beams onto Kickstarter this April.

DEAD AIR #3 continues the story from the first two issues, diving deeper into a world shaped by the once groundbreaking D-TALq technology, which, for one day of the year, allows the living to speak with the dead. What was once seen as miraculous has since become just another part of everyday life, fading into the background as people grow used to it. That normalcy is shattered for main character, Michelle, when she visits her local franchise to use the D TALq and experiences something she never could have expected. What begins as a simple interaction quickly turns into a moment that changes everything. As new revelations come to light, Michelle finds herself pulled back into her past, where long buried secrets begin to resurface. The story moves between her late 90s college years, filled with friendships and defining moments, and the early 2010s, where she and her friends are still dealing with the fallout of a tragedy that continues to shape their lives. With each issue raising the stakes, DEAD AIR #3 pushes the tension, mystery, and emotion even further, setting the stage for what comes next.

DEAD AIR #3 builds on the momentum of the wildly successful campaign for issues 1 and 2, giving backers the chance to collect all three chapters of the series in one place. The book is brought to life by artist Joe Ng, whose work on Transformers and Street Fighter has earned him a passionate and dedicated fanbase. Writer Benjamin Hunting has also become a fan favorite through projects like Model UN and Code 45, with readers consistently praising his imaginative ideas and tightly crafted storytelling. The creative team also includes graphic designer Angela Hodge, colorist Maja Opacic, and letterer Lyndon Radchenka, each bringing their unique voice and style to the series. Fans of the first two issues will be excited to see where the story goes next, while new readers will be pulled in by the series’ original concept and distinct visual style. At its core, DEAD AIR is college radio sci-fi with a soundtrack, exploring the connections that bind people together across time and space.

“Being thrown into such a diverse musical mix at a university radio station my mid-teens exposed me to bands and genres that had otherwise skipped the very small town I grew up in,” says Benjamin. “I was surrounded by students who were at exactly the right time in their lives to dive head-first into whatever music subculture appealed to them the most. Isolated from global pop culture at large by rural Quebec, these passionate people carved out their own style niches and worldviews that revolved around their favorite bands and scenes. All of that is reflected in the pages of Dead Air, especially at CJNK, the station that serves as the focal point for the characters.””

HUNGRY: “HUNGRY follows thrill-seeking tourists on a riverboat tour through the treacherous Louisiana swamplands. Lured off the beaten path by the promise of an exclusive adventure, they soon find themselves fighting for survival against a ravenous hippopotamus lurking beneath the bayou’s murky waters. Set in a mysterious and dangerous landscape, HUNGRY is a tense survival thriller about an impossible battle with one of nature’s deadliest predators.

DIRECTED and WRITTEN BY: James Nunn (Wildcat, One Shot trilogy)

CAST: Madison Davenport (“Sharp Objects”), Joaquim de Almeida (Road House, Fast X), Olivia Bernstone (“Mood”), Tracey Bonner (“Sweet Magnolias”, The Exorcism), Michel Curiel (“Sistas”, “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law”), Jim Meskimen (Apollo 13), Samantha Coughlan (Arcadian), and River Codack (Heretic).”

SALT ALONG THE TONGUE: “After teenager Mattia’s mother dies unexpectedly, she has no choice but to move in with her aunt Carol, her mother’s identical twin. As Mattia grapples with the loss of her mother and this new way of life with her aunt, a treacherous family secret begins to come to light. From beyond the grave Mattia’s mother possesses her daughter, not only trying to protect Mattia from the same fate that befell her, but also to find reconciliation with her twin sister, using food as a gateway.

With SALT ALONG THE TONGUE, writer/director Parish Malfitano explores his own Italian heritage in this visionary second feature, with a haunting tale rooted in the malocchio (evil eye) superstition. Malfitano’s screenplay was a semi-finalist in Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope Screenplay Competition, and he calls the film “a love letter to my mother”, taking inspiration from Pedro Almodóvar’s Volver, as well as Possession, Three Women, and Don’t Look Now.”

    On VOD May 1st
