In a recent interview after DWTS’ Disney Night, Robert Irwin, along with his dance partner, Witney Carson, reacted to an offer he received from Chippendales. Seeing his reaction, fans began to wonder if there’s a chance he might eventually come around. Irwin is currently a contestant on Season 34, and they cannot stop falling more in love with him.
Robert Irwin reacts to getting unexpected offer & fans can’t get enough
After this week’s DWTS Disney Night episode, the Australian conservationist, actor, and television presenter addressed an offer from Chippendales to host a show.
When asked by ET regarding the truth behind the offer, and whether he was considering accepting it, Robert Irwin replied, “That is true. The Aussie boys, as well, Thunder Down Under, also reached out.” Meanwhile, his partner, Carson, upon hearing the question, looked astonished by the unexpected offer.
Irwin went on to remark, “All power to them… just not for me. Not right now… You know… I’ll take the shirt off every now and again… but I’m gonna draw the line there.” Politely declining the offer, he added, “I’m all about… You know… anything to push the conservation message. Yeah… Chippendales, sorry… not quite, not quite.”
Now, while Robert Irwin seemed to be pretty clear about declining the offer, fans interpreted the DWTS contestant’s response a little differently. On ET’s Instagram post, one fan commented, “Not right now, so there’s a chance?” Another fan mentioned, “Not surprised Robert is so good!!”
Chippendales, which currently operates as a touring male striptease dance troupe, was founded by Indian American entrepreneur Somen Banerjee. It started as a bar that hosted exotic dance nights for women and soon expanded into clubs and three dance troupes that toured around the US and Europe. Unfortunately, Banerjee was eventually arrested in 1993 for multiple felonies and passed away the following year.
Currently, the Chippendales dance troupe is on its tour in Europe.
