Martha Stewart got an unexpected response after joking that she was thinking about sharing a revealing photo. The 85-year-old lifestyle icon shared a selfie on Instagram on September 12, along with the playful caption. Among the people reacting was DJ Diplo, who quickly gave the idea his approval.
Martha Stewart jokes about releasing her nudes, and Diplo responds with an enthusiastic ‘Big yes’
Stewart shared the photo with her short blonde hair down as she posed for the camera. She captioned the post, “I’ve been thinking about releasing my nudes.” Diplo, 47, gave a two-word cheeky reply: “Big yes.” The DJ’s comment quickly became one of the standout responses to Stewart’s post.
The Bachelorette alum Tyler Cameron also joined the conversation, writing, “You’ll set the world on fire Martha!”
However, Stewart soon explained that the “nudes” were not what some people may have assumed. A few hours later, she shared another Instagram post revealing that the joke was part of a marketing “ploy” for her skincare line, Elm Biosciences.
“My ‘nudes’ are just a ‘ploy’ they are actually fabulous lip serums to wear day and night to keep your lips as lustrous and soft as your skin !!!!!” Stewart wrote while showing herself applying the product.
Stewart launched Elm Biosciences last September and has spoken about her approach to skincare and aging. In January, she also addressed long-running speculation about whether she had undergone plastic surgery. About which she told People, “Everybody insists that I’ve had plastic surgery, and I have not ever had plastic surgery.” She added, “I’m the most honest person on earth — but if they won’t take my word for it, I don’t know.”
Stewart has also continued to take on new opportunities as she gets older. In 2023, she became the oldest model to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.
At the time, she said she was “thrilled,” about the opportunity and shared her motto: “When you’re through changing, you’re through.” She further added, “I hope this cover inspires you to challenge yourself to try new things, no matter what stage of life you are in.”
