Meghan Markle reportedly has a central role in Prince Harry’s Diana movie. A source claimed she will “narrate” it. The Duchess of Sussex was said to be more than a behind-the-scenes supporter as Harry approached Princess Diana’s friends and associates. The project was reportedly tied to the 30th anniversary of Diana’s death next year. The claim framed Meghan’s voice as the film’s most controversial palace flashpoint.
Meghan Markle will ‘narrate’ Prince Harry’s Diana movie, per source
According to Rob Shuter’s Substack post, Prince Harry is making a television film about Princess Diana. He has reportedly started talking to Diana’s friends and associates about being part of the film.
Meghan Markle will have a key role in the film beyond her support behind the scenes. A production insider said, “Meghan isn’t getting a cameo.” The source added she was “becoming the voice of Diana’s story.” They also said that made her “a central figure in the film.”
Meanwhile, the insider said Harry’s position does not erase Meghan’s role in the project. The source said, “Harry may be the son,” but Meghan would be “the voice viewers hear.” The report then shifted to Prince William’s expected reaction.
A royal source claimed, “William believes Diana’s legacy belongs to him.” They added, “Harry making his own film is one thing.” However, they said Meghan becoming the narrator of “their mother’s story” is“something else entirely.”
Still, the report claimed the Diana movie is being shaped by both Sussexes. A source claimed they saw “powerful parallels between Diana’s battles with the palace and press and their own experience.”
They added that Meghan’s narration made “that perspective impossible to separate from the film.” For Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the Diana movie is framed as both a personal tribute and a disputed family project.
