Real Housewives of New York Season 15, Episode 9 Recap

The Tuesday, November 19 episode of Real Housewives of New York ended with a “To be continued…” Brynn arrived at Ubah’s picnic party ready to confront Erin for misrepresenting her knowledge of the infamous pregnancy prank.

Last week, Brynn revealed she knew the infidelity part of the prank was BS because of a conversation she had with Erin before the dodgeball game. The women told her that Erin let them believe Brynn did not know it was a prank and sincerely spread the rumor to half of New York. Naturally, Brynn felt set up by her friend and planned to confront her at the picnic party.

So, what happened when Erin arrived? Keep reading to find out…

What happened on Real Housewives of New York Season 15, Episode 9?

In tonight’s episode of RHONY, the pregnancy prank discourse finally comes to an end (Thank God). Brynn confronts Erin, reminding her that they discussed the rumor being fake while getting drinks one night. Erin denies the claim, telling the girls she never told Brynn the prank was fake. Oh boy. These women can never come to a resolution. They just bury their issues until they resurface at the reunion.

Later, Erin tells Jenna that the overturning of Roe v. Wade made her want to open up about her abortion in an interview with Glamour magazine. She tells Jenna that she found out she was pregnant a few weeks into her first year at University and decided to terminate the pregnancy. Jenna is supportive of Erin and shares her own abortion story from when she was a young adult.

The episode ends with Erin talking to her dad about the Glamour interview. She comes clean about the abortion and her father (who has since passed) is very supportive.

Keep reading for a more detailed recap of tonight’s episode.

Brynn confronts Erin at Ubah’s picnic party

Tonight’s episode of RHONY began with Brynn introducing a mischievous game to get Erin to talk about the pregnancy prank. She tells the girls they should play a game where they all say the craziest rumor they’ve heard about each other.

Oh great, another game. I’m struggling so much to like this season. I respect Brynn’s effort. She wants to be a great housewife but unfortunately, all the drama feels so scripted. They have to make up games to create drama rather than just letting it happen naturally. The “rumor game” is one more example of the women breaking the fourth wall. It feels like they are constantly reminding us that THIS IS A TV SHOW. Yeah, we know…I want the drama to feel authentic. Right now, it all feels so strategic.

Anyway, the women play this weird rumor game to try to trap Erin in her lie. Before they get to Erin, they briefly question newbie Rebecca about her connection to Scientology. The RHONY star repeats what she said earlier this season, which is that she gets spiritual fulfillment from the organization. In confessionals, the women share their thoughts on Scientology. Most of the women play it safe, except for Jenna, who says, “Organized religion, it is the number one cause of death in the universe.” Damn, ok Jenna, go off!

After the ladies are done dispelling rumors they’ve read about themselves in the press, they move on to Erin. Racquel speaks up first, telling Erin it’s “kinda f*cked up” that she let Rebecca think that Brynn was intentionally spreading the rumor around town when actually, Brynn knew the whole thing was fake. Erin said she knew Brynn didn’t believe Rebecca’s husband was not the father, but clarified that she never specifically told Brynn the rumor was not true. This scene is a whole bunch of she said/she said and per usual, nothing was resolved.

Erin opens up about her abortion on Real Housewives of New York

After being interrogated at the picnic party, Erin met up with Jenna to talk about something more serious. She tells Jenna that the overturning of Roe v. Wade inspired her to open up about her abortion story in an interview with Glamour. She shares that she got an abortion when she was 18 and talks about how difficult it was to make that decision. Jenna praises her for being open about a stigmatized topic and shares that she also got an abortion when she was 21. Much respect for Erin and Jenna for being so vulnerable on television. It’s a difficult topic to discuss, especially in front of such a large audience. Their stories will no doubt help a lot of women watching at home.

At the end of the conversation, Erin tells Jenna that her dad doesn’t know and she’ll have to tell him before the interview comes out. She worries how he will react and is nervous to tell him.

Racquel and Jenna get flirty on Real Housewives of New York

Jenna meets up with Racquel at an art gallery and the two are very flirty. Hmmm. This is…new? In a confessional, Jenna says that not only was she granted permission to have a crush, but she was also given a hall pass. Woah! She says she hasn’t used it yet, but she might. Omg! It begs the question, did Mel also give Racquel a hall pass? We’ll have to wait and see…

The two discuss the Brynn/Erin drama and Racquel expresses concern about her relationship with Erin. The two hit it off right away and she worries that their recent bit of tension will fracture the relationship. Jenna tells Racquel to be cautious of Brynn because she likes to embellish stories. Interesting…does Jenna trust Erin more than Brynn?

Erin opens up to her dad about her abortion

The episode ends with Erin talking to her dad about the Glamour interview. She opens up to him about her experience and he is very supportive. In a confessional, Erin reflects on her relationship with her father, who passed away after filming for Season 15 wrapped. She talks about how she didn’t realize how much that secret was weighing on her and how she feels relief that he knows what she went through.

“He was the best dad,’ she says in a confessional. “I cannot believe he’s not here.”

Real Housewives of New York airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
