Welcome back to the latest recap of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Last time, Tamra spent time with her bestie, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp. And Vicki brought the Tres Amigas back together. Woo-Hoo! Here’s what happened in RHOC Season 20 Episode 4: “Boxed In.”
What happened in Real Housewives of Orange County Season 20 Episode 4?
Tamra wondered if Heather was excluding her from her TikToks. Meanwhile, Gina questioned Carmella’s motives. And a game at Tamra’s party led to some uncomfortable truths.
Gina has questions about Carmella in The Real Housewives of Orange County
Emily and Shannon went to Gina’s to create TikTok magic. Lordy! “Carmella got me a Dior clutch, and then when I pulled … I could see there was another box in there,” Emily said. “It was like a purple vibrator. I thought it was funny.”
However, Gina was shocked. “You show up as like a b-invite, and you bring a Dior bag?” she remarked. When Shannon said that the bag cost more than $3,000, Gina said, “I didn’t know she even had bankroll like that. Do you think she’s trying to buy your love?”
Elsewhere, Tamra met up with Fernanda Rocha. “I met Fernanda when I was married to Simon [Barney],” Tamra stated. “Fernanda is my hall pass.”
Finally, Heather and Jenn arrived for Fernanda’s Brazilian booty class. Jenn shared her conversation with her son, Greyson. “Kids react to divorce at different stages of their life,” Tamra stated. “Every kid is different,” Heather added.
In her confessional, Jenn admitted, “I feel like a failure because there’s huge things going on with my 17-year-old and I didn’t know.” When Heather brought up Shannon’s social media, Tamra seized the moment. “She always leaves me out of the TikToks,” Tamra said of Heather. “But it’s just knowing that I’m like compartmentalized and in a box. I do feel like you want to be friends, but you don’t want anybody to know about it.”
Meanwhile, Heather was confused by Tamra’s comments. “I think I’ve been a really honest, loyal, and good friend to you,” Fancy Pants replied. Naturally, Jenn jumped in, noting that she wasn’t sure how close Heather and Tamra were.
Tamra claimed in her confessional that “Heather can definitely turn it on and turn it off around people. To me, that’s really fake,” she added.
Vicki spends time with her son in RHOC
Vicki and her son, Michael Wolfsmith, spent some quality time together. “Michael has become the world traveler and works for Coto Insurance remotely. He runs my life insurance division,” Vicki said in her confessional.
Naturally, Vicki couldn’t resist asking about Michael’s plans. “Are we going to have children?” she asked. “Should we freeze your sperm?”
He replied that he is enjoying “his selfish life.” Michael revealed that he hasn’t seen his sister, Brianna Culberson, in eight years and hasn’t met two of her children. “Mike’s in Spain. Brianna lives in Oklahoma. They talk all the time,” Vicki noted in her talking head. For Vicki, being away from her children was difficult.
She continued, “One of my biggest regrets is Donn [Gunvalson] and I getting divorced. It broke the family apart. It makes me feel guilty, sad, remorseful,” Vicki added.
Carmella was grilled about gift-giving in RHOC
Jenn, Tamra, and Carmella met for dinner. In a flashback, Emily brought up the Dior bag after a workout with Shannon and Carmella. “Thank you so much for the bag. But I will tell you that Gina’s been very vocal about it,” Emily stated.
Apparently, Gina wanted to know Carmella’s motivation for giving Emily such a pricey gift. “To accuse me of having an ulterior motive, like, that’s gross,” Carmella told Tamra and Jenn. “It was a bold accusation, not knowing me. Just be happy for your friend that somebody got her a Dior bag,” she added.
“I mean, it’s an expensive gift to give somebody that you don’t really know,” Tamra opined. “I also heard how much you pay for your rent, too.” Carmella should have known better than to tell Shannon that her “rental is $35,000 a month.”
In her confessional, Carmella vented. “I have never had so much criticism about my own personal finances. It’s beyond tacky,” she remarked. Has Carmella ever watched RHOC?
Then she discussed her job. Carmella explained that she takes on “one project.” It was basically flipping houses, although she didn’t want to call it that. “It takes a certain level of finesse to be in the luxury space, and I really want to maintain that,” the newbie said.
She revealed that after she found out her husband, Jeff Garcia, was allegedly cheating, she got her real estate license and sold the house they were building. After making over $1 million, she kept moving forward.
In her confessional, Carmella explained, “I’ve been with the Oppenheim Group for the last three or four years. I’m a real estate agent, and a broker. And I have a special focus in development.” She added, “And I’ve sold almost $100 million in the last 10 years.”
Tamra’s taco party featured a shady game in RHOC
Tamra hosted a taco party to cheer up Vicki because of the violence in Puerto Vallarta. At Tamra’s house, Shannon stumbled in with a box of decorations. Of course, Tamra had prepared a shady game called “friend in a box.”
Everyone attended except for Carmella, who was in Rancho Santa Fe. “That’s right, because she doesn’t live here. She just rents a place to pseudo-live here,” Vicki said. When Heather stated that Carmella worked for The Oppenheim Group, Gina claimed that Carmella said she “was a developer.”
In her talking head, Vicki ranted, “You buy a house, you renovate it, you sell it. She’s a house flipper. That’s not a developer!”
Outside, Tamra, Jenn, and Emily chatted about Heather. Tamra said that Heather believes that Jenn “is too invested” in her friendship with Tamra. “She said that she thinks you’re obsessed with her,” Emily added, pouring gasoline on the fire.
Cue the flashback of Heather telling Emily, “I never thought that Jenn was obsessed with Tamra, but honestly, she brings her up so much. Now, I’m starting to go, ‘Are you?’” Of course, Jenn was not pleased. “I don’t like fake sh*t,” she said.
The truth hurts in The Real Housewives of Orange County
Next, Tamra introduced the game. “I recently found out I was put in a box. We’re having an unboxing party, so we know exactly where everybody stands,” Tamra explained. Each player decorated a box, then anonymously wrote down their feelings about each person. Yikes!
In Tamra’s box, Heather’s note mentioned how Tamra could “cut her deeply.” However, Tamra accepted the criticism well.
Next it was Heather’s turn. One card claimed that Heather accused Jenn of “bringing up Tamra a lot.” Jenn stated, “What I understand is you f*cking double down and say I’m obsessed with her.”
Heather exclaimed, “Let me just answer it! I said, because every time we’re together, I feel like you always are talking about Tamra, bringing her up.”
Then, Jenn brought up the “obsessed” comment again. “I didn’t say you’re ‘obsessed’ with her,” Heather clarified. However, Emily insisted that Heather did use that word.
According to Shannon, Tamra accused Jenn of being obsessed with her last season. “It’s crazy that Heather used it against me,” Jenn explained in her confessional. Finally, Heather apologized for her choice of words.
When Shannon opened her box, there was a shady message from Tamra. “Kind, but holds grudges,” Tamra wrote. “I love you, and I adore you,” Tamra said.
An emotional Tamra shared that she cried when she got Shannon’s text about the party. She apologized “for the horrible things” that she did to her. Shannon felt “that Tamra’s apology was genuine.” Time will tell!
