The Browns never thought their polygamous family could be left in ruins. But they also had never met Robyn Brown. It felt like the fourth wife of Kody Brown made it her mission to divide and conquer when it came to the plural family. Kody treated her like a queen and often put her on a pedestal. Robyn was seen as the crux of all the issues due to her alleged manipulative ways. Even though she claimed she wanted to grow old with her Sister Wives costars, her actions spoke a different tune.
As Season 10 gets ready to premiere, Robyn is acting as if Kody has turned her off. The patriarch has been whining and crying for years, not about how he is the victim. He has isolated himself from his three other wives and older children. Could it be that Robyn finally has had enough and has been given the ick? She might be better off going at it alone for a while, but surely that would devastate Kody.
Kody Brown hasn’t been the nicest
For the most part, Robyn has been the neck that turns the head when it comes to major decisions for the family. Fans have watched multiple seasons where Robyn has gotten her way. However, Robyn isn’t blind to the fact that Kody has taken his anger out on his first three wives. More than once, Kody has called them names like “princess” and “lazy.” It is not exactly how a husband should treat his spouses, but Robyn has escaped unscathed until now.
The Season 10 trailer showed Kody freaking out in the presence of Robyn. Even though Robyn is once again crying, it feels like she is starting to understand why Meri Brown, Christine Brown, and Janelle Brown all decided to uproot their lives and move on to greener pastures. In the trailer, Robyn notes, “I feel like the idiot who got left behind.” Could it be that the mother of five finally understands her husband is a loser in aluminum?
Robyn Brown and Kody Brown are on the rocks
A source close to the Brown family shared with The US Sun that “Robyn and Kody are not doing well. They have been very unhappy. I mean, they’ve been unhappy since everything fell apart, but even more so now, it’s getting worse.” It’s no surprise that the couple are struggling. A big reason for their marriage’s demise is how angry Kody is. The source added, “He’s just really mad at the world right now. Kody is not who he used to be at all.”
“He’s completely changed. He’s angry, and he’s volatile, and he doesn’t like anybody who’s not worshiping him.” Kody has always had a major God complex. In Season 8, he noted that he should have never given the wives their freedom or allowed them to have minds of their own, saying, “I’m going to be the head of my household again, and so I’m not going to be circumvented in that,” Kody said. “And so if everybody’s willing to conform to patriarchy again, I guess, because I’ve been fighting to make everybody happy. My bitterness is that out of trying to do that and not having the family that I had thought about and designed.” Spoiler alert: nobody was willing to bow down to Kody.
Kody Brown has become controlling
The gun salesman is trying to hold onto any sense of control he once had. But the moment is fleeting, like trying to catch a snowflake before it melts. The source explained that Kody has become “very controlling,” which in turn has made Robyn “submissive.” Allegedly, Kody is “controlling so much of her life right now,” and she is “not happy.” I mean, who would be happy? I imagine Robyn is plotting her escape as I type. Even though she is the clear villain of the series, she is also one smart cookie. I can’t imagine Robyn would stay one minute longer if it meant she was being disrespected.
The insider elaborated that Robyn used to be a social butterfly, which included family visits and talking on the phone with friends. But apparently, this no longer happens. If the trailer is any indication of their issues, it doesn’t look good. While standing out in the snow, Robyn is caught saying, “I’m having a hard time feeling like I’m losing respect for you.” Even though Robyn has often been the scapegoat, she has kept Kody in line when it comes to expressing his sour opinions. Maybe she is just tired of being his carer.
Kody Brown is turning into Robyn Brown’s ex
As the trailer ended, the TLC cameras zoomed in on Robyn, and she noted, “This is not the way it was supposed to go.” What’s worse for the fourth and favorite wife is the fact that her beloved Kody is slowly morphing into her ex-husband, David Jessop. The source noted, “Kody is turning into a mirror image of David. She took her kids away from him and took his parental control away. You think she’s going to stick around for this? No. Robyn chose to divorce David, stating there was serious marital discord in the home.
It seems like Robyn is putting her foot down, and I can’t blame her. The insider shared, “Robyn is not committed to staying if things don’t change. That’s just what it has come down to. Their marriage is not going to sustain this kind of control. She’s not going to let her kids be raised in the same volatile, angry state that her other kids were raised in.” If Robyn does leave, Kody will have no choice but to finally face the fact that he has been the problem all along.
