For years, Shamea Morton Mwangi has been a background character on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. With Season 16, Bravo finally gave her a peach, and with that, she’s been able to show off her incredibly lavish lifestyle.
She’s got elevators in her house, more rooms than she can count, and her husband gifted her a Rolls-Royce for her birthday. They’ve got serious money, but Shamea recently revealed how a conversation with a prophet left her questioning the state of her finances.
Is Shamea Morton in Financial Trouble?
Remember how Cynthia Bailey had a prophet show up at the Juneteenth Bailey-cue in Season 16 Episode 9? Apparently, there was an unaired moment between Shamea and the prophet where she warned the mother of two about potential money troubles.
“It was hit or miss with her, I don’t know,” Shamea recalled during the RHOA Season 16 After Show.
“She did pick up that I need to start doing music and playing piano again,” Shamea continued, “But then she was talking about we’re in some trouble financially, and I went home and I was like, ‘I’mma have to see that account.’”
Admittedly, anytime we see someone spending a ton of money on Housewives, it makes us a little worried for them. We saw Teresa Giudice buy all of that furniture in cash, only to wind up in jail a few years later. The prophet might have said what we were all thinking.
Fortunately, it seems like Shamea’s income stream is more straightforward. Her husband heads up a company that installs HVAC at airports, and she checked in with him after the prophecy. Everything seemed okay, but the moment left her questioning if it was time for a lifestyle change. Maybe they don’t need the elevator after all.
Shamea said she asked herself, “Do I need to slow down? Do we need to downsize?”
