From the people who brought you The Walking Dead, Final Destination, and… Super Troopers?
Okay, so what do Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead), Broken Lizard (Club Dread, Super Troopers), and metal band Ice Nine Kills all have in common?
Apparently, as first reported by Bloody Disgusting, a mysterious film teased by Ice Nine Kills on social media, called The Slashin’ of the Christ – and frontman Spencer Charnas is writing the script! Nothing is known about the plot at this time, but given how creative the band’s live shows and music videos have been, combined with Spencer’s well-known love of the horror genre, we’re super curious to see what he comes up with here.
The project already carries some weight, too, considering it will be produced by none other than horror legend Greg Nicotero, a man who needs no introduction around these parts. From Evil Dead 2 to Dusk Till Dawn, to Thirteen Ghosts and Scream, his name alone brings some serious clout to the production. Also joining him will be Chris Nilsson (The Dirt), and Brian Witten (Final Destination).
Now, Ice Nine Kills and Greg Nicotero teaming up makes total sense, sure – but here’s where it gets interesting… Paul Soter of Broken Lizard fame is also involved. Is this an epic horror comedy in the making? I think it’s probably a safe bet that some humor will be involved, but we can only speculate at this point.
