‘The View’ Joy Behar Shocks With Real Name Reveal

Longtime The View co-host Joy Behar has been known by the same name for decades. Yet, she just shocked everyone by revealing her real name. So, what is it, and how different is it from Joy? Keep reading for all of the details.

Joy Behar Shocks With Real Name

For decades, Joy Behar has made fans laugh as a comedian. She has wowed audiences on stage and then made her way to the big and small screen. For nearly thirty years, she has been a co-host on the hit daytime talk show, The View. The one thing about Joy is that she is unfiltered and unapologetic, which often gets her into trouble. Yet, she does not care and keeps going on with her life. Now, audiences may know that she got the last name “Behar” from her first marriage to Joe Behar. They were married from 1965 to 1981, and then she met Steve Janowitz the following year.

However, they did not tie the knot until 2011, and she did not take his last name professionally. Now, she is revealing what her biological name is, and it has taken everyone aback. The subject came up during the Tuesday, February 3rd episode. An audience member shared that she was expecting a baby and would be naming it after Joy Behar. Actually, her little one would have the middle name of “Joy,” and that led the co-host to detail how she got her nickname. It was all thanks to her grandfather, who did not call her by her full name of Josephine:

“My real name is Josephine Victoria, but my grandfather called me Joy, my Italian grandfather. From infancy, I was always known as Joy.”

She then complimented the audience member for choosing the moniker as a middle name.

Alyssa Farah Griffin is also expecting a baby, so The View is full of mothers and excitement. After viewers found out about Joy Behar’s namesake, many chimed in. They were very excited as they shared the same name as the co-host.

    A Great Gift

It is a high honor to name your baby after someone famous, let alone be able to tell them. So, for Joy Behar to be able to know that she is the inspiration is an incredible gift. She had been absent from The View, but was back right on time. Fans loved this special honor and shared their excitement with the Williamsburg, New York, NY native:

    • My middle name is Joy…..a great name!
    • I love Joy.
    • Well, we NEED more Joy in our country and our world! Hugs to both of you 🩷🩷🤗🤗🧸🧸
    • My middle name is Joy and I love it❤️

Of course, some did not care for Joy Behar and felt bad that the child had to carry on the name. Regardless, it is a sweet moniker, and she will be a “joy” no matter what.

Would you name your baby after a celebrity? Moreover, would you name it after a talk show host or someone on The View? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
