Fans have been wondering about just what is next for Tom Selleck following the end of Blue Bloods. Recently, his next television series has been announced. In fact, a lot of prominent figures are also attached to the story.
Tom Selleck Was On Blue Bloods From 2010 To 2024 As Frank Reagan
Selleck is known for a variety of roles. His breakout role was Thomas Magnum in Magnum, P.I., throughout the 1980s. Starting in 2005, he also portrayed Jesse Stone in a series of television films based on the Robert B. Parker novels.
Selleck later starred as Frank Reagan in Blue Bloods, the family of a patriarch of NYC police officers. He served in the role for over a decade, with the show running from 2010 to 2024.

Since the end of the show, fans have been wondering about just what Selleck’s new project will be. This has included another Jesse Stone project or appearances on the Blue Bloods spin-off, Boston Blue.
Recently, Selleck’s return to crime TV has been announced. He will host, narrate, and executive produce an upcoming History Channel documentary series called Crime and Justice with Tom Selleck. This marks his first new TV show since Blue Bloods‘ 2024 end.
Selleck Will Be One Of Many Stars Working On A Docuseries For The History Channel
The series will examine the true stories behind some of the most consequential crimes and investigations throughout American history. The series will last around ten episodes.
Notably, Selleck isn’t the only celeb to bring his star power to the History Channel with a documentary series. Other such figures include Kevin Bacon, Ted Danson, Dolph Lundgren, and Robin Roberts.

History’s Strange Fortunes with Kevin Bacon will explore various hard-to-believe financial tales. Extraordinary Origins with Ted Danson will explore inventions and discoveries. History’s Greatest Machines with Dolph Lundgren will see the title star make use of his academic background in chemical engineering.
Finally, Good Morning America‘s Robin Roberts will host 102 Minutes Inside the Towers will explore firsthand accounts of September 11, 2001, following its 25th anniversary. At this time, release dates for these projects have not been released, though most are expected for a 2026 release.
Meanwhile, while Selleck hasn’t physically appeared on Boston Blue so far, the character is still referenced and was even part of a phone conversation on the show. In addition, the show’s first season was filled with Blue Bloods alums. As noted by TV Insider, star Sonequa Martin-Green has also expressed hope that Selleck will appear on the spin-off.
