Yesterday, Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema delivered an intense first look at Evil Dead Burn with a red band trailer packed with relentless horror. The preview leaned heavily into the franchise’s signature chaos, featuring deadites, graphic violence, unsettling imagery, and flashes of dark, slapstick humor that underscore the series’ tradition of excess.
However, due to the restrictions surrounding red band content, the studios have now released a green band version of the trailer. Rather than serving as a simple toned-down edit, this alternate cut presents a notably different experience, shifting focus toward narrative and atmosphere.
The green band trailer emphasizes story elements, introducing a family grappling with tragedy after losing their son in a fiery car accident – an incident his wife survives. As the footage unfolds, she appears to continue interacting with the family, including an uneasy dinner sequence that suggests possession may already be at play. Themes of trauma and guilt are foregrounded, hinting at a deeper psychological layer behind the supernatural horror.
Additional moments include a wedding video that has drawn attention from longtime fans. Some viewers have identified parallels to Evil Dead Rise, particularly a dockside sequence that may connect the two films. Brief imagery in the red band trailer, featuring a possible glimpse of the character Jessica (Anna-Maree Thomas), has fueled speculation that both stories share a location and timeline.
While definitive answers remain unconfirmed, anticipation continues to build ahead of the film’s theatrical release on July 10.

Here’s the official synopsis: “After losing her husband, a woman seeks comfort at her in-laws’ in their remote home. But when they’re turned into Deadites one by one, the family reunion becomes a hellish nightmare. Soon she realizes that the promises she made herself in life matter… even in death.”
Dune: Part Two actress Souheila Yacoub stars in Evil Dead Burn alongside Hunter Doohan (Wednesday), Luciane Buchanan (The Night Agent), and Tandi Wright (Pearl), with Erroll Shand, Edgar Price, Maude Davey, Keanu Karim, and Victory Ndukwe.
“I told the studio that I wanted to make a nasty film, a film that hurts, from which you come away tested,” Vaniček previously said of Evil Dead Burn.
“I’m going to put all the horror I have inside, it will be cathartic, and if I haven’t ruined my career and I can continue to make films behind it, I will move on to something other than horror!”
