Captain America: Brave New World should cruise to another comfortable win at the box office this weekend, with Last Breath the biggest new release battling The Monkey for second place.
Here’s our model’s fundamentals prediction for Last Breath…
Its previews are pretty much in line with expectations, and a weekend somewhere close to $10 million looks a good bet…
There are three other new wide releases this weekend, and we have analysis for two of them…
We don’t have a theater count for Mobile Suit Gundam, so our prediction is particular speculative in this case.
My Dead Friend Zoe could fall between the cracks, although we’re seeing quite a bit of audience buzz around this one.
The final wide release, Riff Raff is opening in 1,004 theaters, which is more than the previous two films. It didn’t come on our radar early enough for us to give it a full analysis, but given the general weakness in the market it could well hit the top 10.
Here’s what the model thinks the top 10 will look like.
Oscar weekend is looking like a very slow one in theaters.
