Who Went Home? Did Matt Rossi Survive?

Viewers looking for The Bachelorette Season 21 Episode 5 recap can find out who went home and what happened to Matt Rossi here. This is the latest season of The Bachelorette and stars Jenn Tran, the first Asian-American lead in The Bachelor franchise. Tran previously competed in the 28th season of The Bachelor, starring Joey Graziadei, where she secured fifth place.

So who was eliminated and was sent home in Season 21 Episode 5? Was Matt Rossi sent home by Jen Tran, and which contestants ended up getting roses and staying safe? Here are all the details.

Who got eliminated in The Bachelorette Season 21 Episode 5?

John M, Thomas N, Austin, and Dylan were eliminated in The Bachelorette Season 21 Episode 5.

John M and Thomas N were sent home by Jenn after the first rose ceremony, which happened after she canceled her cocktail party.

Austin later self-eliminated himself after realizing that he did not stand a chance with Jenn compared to the other contestants. He told Jenn that she had amazing guys around her who could give her everything she wanted and deserved, but that he was incapable of being like them. Jenn respected his decision to leave. However, following Austin’s self-elimination and departure, Jenn got emotional and was plagued with doubts about herself and the entire process.

Later during the second rose ceremony, she sent Dylan from Elk Grove, California home.

Did Jen send Matt Rossi home in The Bachelorette Season 21 Episode 5?

Jen sent Matt Rossi home in The Bachelorette Season 21 Episode 5.

Matt Rossi joined the other 11 contestants of Season 21 in Auckland, New Zealand to try and win Jenn’s affections again. However, Rossi joining The Bachelorette Season 21 caused some worries among the contestants as they felt that Matt had an unfair advantage over them due to being Jenn’s ex-boyfriend. Devin Strader, in particular, disapproved of Matt’s inclusion and expressed that he would leave if Matt came on the show.

However, Matt simply confessed to the other contestants that he acknowledged Jenn’s future was with them and that they could give her something he couldn’t. He also said that he had to respect Jenn’s journey on the show. He then wished the other contestants all the best.

Who got roses and was safe in The Bachelorette Season 21 Episode 5?

The following contestants got roses and stayed safe in Episode 5:

    • Sam M
    • Devin
    • Marcus
    • Jeremy
    • Spencer
    • Jonathan
    • Grant

Jonathan and Grant got roses before Sam M, Devin, Marcus, Jeremy, and Spencer. They got their roses from Jenn after their one-on-one dates with her. During those dates, Jonathan and Grant had fostered pretty genuine connections with Jenn by being open and honest with her.
