Southern Charm fans are eagerly awaiting the next season. There is promise of a dynamic change with several new cast members. And there is a need for closure on some of the past romances. Notably, between former couple Taylor Ann Green and Shep Rose.
Both parties moved on with other people, with Taylor dating Gaston Rojas from Southern Hospitality. But perhaps there was always the question of whether or not the former couple could be cordial, at least for the sake of filming Southern Charm. Shep recently shared whether he and Taylor maintain any contact these days.
Shep Rose “will continue to root for” Taylor
The veteran cast member shared his current status with Taylor on November 23 at an event in Miami called Bravo Fan Fest. The aptly named panel I’ll Tell Ya How I’m Dating, Not Well, B*tch! had Shep reflecting on his dating life, specifically, how Taylor’s relationship with Gaston changed their dynamic post-breakup.
“No, no, we’re not [talking]. She doesn’t want to contact me. I don’t know why,” Shep revealed. “I understand, I respect that. Me personally, I would root for her. I will continue to root for her if she needs anything for the rest of her life. I’m there for her and I love her family and I still communicate with her mom. Sometimes we talk and so it’s very, deep roots and I mean, it was the longest relationship I’ve ever had.”
Shep admitted being a “dumbass” when it comes to relationships
According to the reality TV star, he stopped himself from contacting Taylor on numerous occasions.
“And I don’t know, man, it’s really hard honestly because I wanna text her sometimes and I had a dream that she was in and it was very benign. She had made lettuce wraps and they were really good and we were laughing and eating lettuce wraps and I wanted to call, text her just so stupid, but like I asked somebody and they’re like, do not do that,” he shared.
Shep’s new love interest, Sienna, will be featured in the new season. It seems that he is cautiously optimistic about the relationship, though it is long distance.
“So, obviously, Taylor and I’s relationship ended and I was convinced that I wouldn’t meet anybody that I felt strongly about for a while. I don’t know why. I thought that I was just like, it’s hard to find. But sometimes it can happen right on top of each other. And I thought that was this and I was super optimistic and we were saying very, very nice things to each other,” he explained. “It was interesting. Long distance is tough though.”
When it comes to breaking up, Shep admitted, “Usually it’s my fault, honestly.” He added, “I’m a dumbass.”
