Dear Voracious Reader,
What a week! I had the pleasure of celebrating a wonderful person Caroline Barney and her new book Connected: From Stuck to Thriving in the Middle of the Chaos. I joined readers and friends at events in Westport and Bridgeport, CT and, just last night at Manhattan’s New York Public Library. There was something especially lovely about gathering to discuss her book in a place devoted to stories and the people who share them.
What stayed with me most was the warmth and energy in those rooms. The conversations, the enthusiasm, the simple pleasure of being together — all of it brought Caroline’s message to life. When so much of daily life can leave us feeling scattered or disconnected, time spent with others reminds us how much we need community to thrive.
With the end of 2026 approaching, I’ve been thinking about what I want to make more room for in the year ahead. More meaningful conversations. More time with people I care about. More moments when I’m fully present for the life I’m living. Connected offers a thoughtful place to begin that reflection.
Through personal stories and meaningful prompts, Caroline invites us to look gently and honestly at what keeps us stuck — and to take steps toward a more connected, fulfilling life. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by the chaos of modern life or simply longing for a little more purpose and closeness, I warmly recommend it.
It was a joy to be with Caroline this week. I hope you’ll pick up a copy of Connected and find something in its pages that speaks to you and join the conversation. There’s room for all of us.
Happy reading,
