Nick Jonas admitted he “bombed” his auditioned for the role of Kristoff in Frozen
Nick Jonas spoke about his failed audition for a Disney movie during his brothers’ Hey Jonas! podcast. The actor auditioned for Frozen in 2013. During the podcast, he was joined by Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Idina Menzel, who voiced characters Anna, Olaf and Elsa respectively.
Nick said, “So, funny story, but I didn’t realize, uh, I would be sharing today until this moment. I auditioned for Frozen. Mhm. I went in for Kristoff.”
His brothers and the Frozen cast members appeared surprised by his revelation.
Nick added, “For Kristoff. And I went in, and they said, “Okay, uh, what are you going to be singing today?’ I said, ‘Oh, I don’t know.’ I said, ‘What do you mean you don’t know?’ They’re like, ‘Do you have your sheet music?’ And I said, ‘No, no one told me I had. Okay, let’s,’ and so I just said, ‘Can you play something from I don’t know what I said- some musical theater song.’ And I bombed the audition. It was terrible.”
According to PEOPLE, he auditioned for Kristoff in Frozen, but struggled because he was unprepared for the audition. He didn’t even know he needed to bring sheet music to the audition.
Josh Gad joked that Nick would have had better chemistry with Kristen Bell than Jonathan Groff, who ultimately landed the role of Kristoff. Nick Jonas previously starred in Disney musical films Camp Rock (2008) and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010) as Nate Gray. Nick became a prominent figure on Disney Channel after his role.
