Cody Walker, brother of the late actor Paul Walker, has revealed his take on a new “Fast and Furious” movie.
He expressed that he does not want to continue with the franchise.
Cody Walker says he won’t stand in for Paul Walker again if Brian O’Conner returns in Fast Forever
EW reports that Cody isn’t “interested” in bringing back Brian to the screen for the final movie of the franchise. After Paul’s death during the production of Fast & Furious 7, the brothers Cody and Caleb worked to cement Paul’s legacy in the then-unfinished film.
Following Paul’s death in a car accident, his younger brothers Cody and Caleb helped to complete the film by standing in for the late actor. Paul’s character, Brian, received a brilliant sendoff in the seventh installment.
However, Cody is no longer interested in continuing the role in a new 11th film. In fact, he believes the decision should rest with Paul’s daughter, Meadow.
Cody told Entertainment Weekly, “My stance is, it’s what Meadow wants to see done; it’s her father. I would not be interested in doing that again. I love the way his character exited the franchise. They didn’t kill him off, they didn’t do something cheesy like that. It’s beautiful, [Brian] is off raising his kids. But if they want to do that, if Meadow would like to see that, they don’t need me or Caleb. AI was not a thing back in 2014, so they could do that. There’s years of footage that was never used from these other Fast films. They’re the best in the business, they can figure that out.”
Meanwhile, Vin Diesel has expressed interest in the new film. Cody stood beside Diesel during this announcement, but said that he does not have a clue about the future of the franchise and Brian.
Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner evolved from an undercover LAPD officer into one of the Fast & Furious franchise’s most loyal and beloved members. The character became the heart of the series alongside Dominic Toretto.
