Real Housewives of Potomac (RHOP) Season 9, Episode 4 Recap

Welcome to the recap for Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 4. Last week, Gizelle apologized for kicking out Jassi, Mia, and Stacey from her event. She realized her fight was with Karen. Meanwhile, Ashley got on Stacey’s bad side when she spilled the tea about her relationship. With the group somewhat fractured, they all headed to The Queen City for their first cast trip of the season. And things are about to get messy. Here’s exactly what went down in RHOP Season 9, Episode 4: “Bunking Beds and Butting Heads.”

What happened in Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 4?

Mia brought the group to Lake Norman for some rest and relaxation. But we all know that wasn’t going to happen. Mia assigned the dreaded bunk bed room to Keiarna and Stacey as a dig. However, that backfired when Stacey was excited by it. Jacqueline tried to stake her claim as Mia’s number one friend over Jassi while simultaneously being annoyed at being called a sidekick. Then Gizelle and Karen crossed back into friendly frenemy territory when the two made up. The evening ended on a bang when Mia dropped a bombshell about The Grand Dame.

Mia’s Manor was full of luxury … and bunk beds

It was an interesting ride over to “Mia’s Manor” on Lake Norman. Mia tried to get Karen to “own it” regarding her DUI, but Karen wouldn’t budge. However, Karen was upset at Jacqueline for telling everyone she had called her up while drinking. Karen stated, “That is a lie.” Then Jacqueline told Gizelle and Wendy she knew that Karen was upset with her. Gizelle admitted she would be having conversations with Karen later for disrespecting her dad’s charity.

The ladies pulled up to their vacation home, and were greeted with champagne and hot towels. Gizelle noted, “This is how Gizelle is treated.” There were also several butlers and chefs to attend to their every need. This trip was very special to Mia, as she had lived at Lake Norman for a short time with Inc. Everyone was appreciative at first, until it came to the assigned room selections.

Karen and Gizelle had separate rooms but had to share a bathroom. This led to a hilarious exchange between the two if you should say “pee” or “urinate.” Wendy was happy her room was decked out with birthday balloons. Jacqueline was not pleased having to share yet again with Mia. The most unpleasant quarters were the bunk beds given to Keiarna and Stacey. Mia didn’t seem to have beef with Keiarna, but she made it clear she was not a fan of Stacey’s “Valley Girl” vibe.

Jassi and Jacqueline vie to be Mia’s number one sidekick

Who knew the power Mia had over her friends? Gizelle successfully stirred the pot when she told Jassi she was glad things were good between her and Jacqueline. Jassi had no clue what she meant until Jacqueline brought up she heard her say she was Mia’s “sidekick.” Jacqueline then got up from the table and showed how she was “giving it” on her own, but all she got was the cast giving each other side eye. Jassi said she had told Mia she was going to have a good trip because she had a better sidekick this year … her. Jacqueline scoffed that she would always be number one. Karen observed, “Jacqueline is weirdly obsessed with Mia.”

Mia then shared she would be having friends come over tonight for a party. Everyone wondered if Jacqueline was ok with them, and she said she was “cordial” with the group. Stacey called her out and said she had “a lot of beef with a lot of people.” This was Karen’s opening. She brought up how she was mad at Jacqueline for spreading lies that she was drinking on their phone call. Karen basically called Jacqueline a lying liar pants until she made her cry. In her confessional, Karen said Jacqueline was a “backstabbing heifer” and “irrelevant.” Jacqueline was definitely not prepared to go toe to toe with The Grand Dame.

Karen surprises Stacey with the news the group finds her “boring”

Mia didn’t get the reaction she was hoping for when Stacey saw she had the bunk bed room with Keiarna. Stacey was literally thrilled. She had always wanted bunk beds growing up and a roomie, so this was like a dream come true. Could you imagine if she got the fish room at Blue Stone Manor? Keiarna was impressed by Stacey’s attitude. She said, “Stacey’s attitude inspires me to say, ‘You know what? Here we are; let’s do it.’”

Stacey’s positivity didn’t transfer to the rest of the group, however. After Stacey lamented to Karen about having to tell her daughter about her upcoming divorce, Karen shared the bad news. She told Stacey, “They say you’re boring.” Stacey’s face dropped. Karen added that it was no one in particular, but “a general consensus.” Stacey guffawed, “Boring? No. I feel like I must be an alien to these ladies because I am out of this world with positivity and light. They aren’t used to that. Come to my planet; it’s marvelous.” Karen added, “Let them get to know you. Boring you ain’t.”

Gizelle and Karen are friends once again

The ladies met Captain Mike for a leisurely boat ride around Lake Norman. The setting was peaceful and serene, but it was a bumpy ride for Ashley and Stacey. Keiarna still wasn’t thrilled with Ashley because of the altercation that had happened last season. Stacey chimed in that Ashley was being messy and sharing her personal life. The boat wasn’t big, so Ashley could hear them talking about her. She stated she only said TJ was a friend. Karen then let it slip that the word “boring” was related to Stacey. Stacey asked who the culprit was, and everyone looked the other way. But Wendy outed Mia, and she came clean. Stacey joked about it though, and they all had a good laugh.

The mood was light at dinner until Gizelle interjected she needed to talk with Karen. Gizelle told Karen she felt like she was being a good friend to her and wanted that in return. Karen regretted not supporting her event and promised to show up for her. Gizelle was ready to move on, and her friendship with Karen was solid again. Mia’s friends then showed up to Jacqueline’s dismay. One friend explained she knew Mia from way back, and Jacqueline interjected she knew Mia from way, way, back. After the tit for tat, Mia dropped a huge bombshell. She said one night after dinner with Karen and her friend Joy, Karen butt dialed them. And Karen was with someone else and said, “Those girls think I’m with Ray.”

    TO BE CONTINUED…

Real Housewives of Potomac continues Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
