Elena Baez makes her Boston Blue debut in Season 2 Episode 2, and we have your first look at her with “Uncle Danny,” Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg), and mom Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) in the video above. The trio is playing in a park, but then someone suspicious arrives, moving Danny and Baez into detective mode.
Boston Blue Season 2 Episode 2, “Ripple Effect,” airs on Friday, October 16, on CBS. It’s Baez’s first episode of the season, and she’s now living in Boston with her daughter and Danny. Baez adopted baby Elena in the Blue Bloods Season 12 finale. In Boston Blue, she’s played by twin sisters Eleanor and Penelope Yataco.
Danny is playing cops with water guns with Elena in the Boston Blue clip above, and Baez gets in on the fun. Elena is playing with another child at the park when Danny spots an elderly woman taking photos of their family.

“Did she just take our picture?” Danny asks. Baez says she recognizes her.
“I’ve seen her before at the grocery store yesterday. Elena was with me,” she says, concerned. “Is she following us?”
“I don’t know. Let’s find out,” Danny replies.
Baez is confronted with an unexpected family matter in this episode, according to CBS. If this woman is following Elena, could she know her?
Boston Blue co-creator Brandon Sonnier told TV Insider that “the relationship between Danny and Elena is pretty magic,” adding, “Girl dads are different!”
“It’s very fun to see,” Sonnier said of Elena’s introduction. “We’re showing different sides of Danny. Danny [is] sort of going back to the role of being, for all intents and purposes, dad to a young kid, which we haven’t seen for many years, and [getting] another chance at maybe doing it differently than he did it the first time around.”
Here’s the logline for “Ripple Effect”: “As Danny and Lena follow a promising lead in the attack on Detective Rodgers with the help of her father, they find themselves in an intense standoff with a dangerous biker gang. Meanwhile, Mae faces renewed pressure from political rival Thad Longfellow, Sean and Jonah attempt to make amends after a misstep at work, and Baez is confronted with an unexpected family matter.”
Fatherhood is top of mind in the episode. Erik King also guest stars as Chief Chris Williams, Lena’s (Sonequa Martin-Green) biological father.
